Yankee fans have been around much longer. The tradition is much richer.

I am a Mets fan and live in New York. Definetly the Yankees have more support and thats why everyone hates them because most of them are fans just because they have won so much. Most Yankee fans dont know much about baseball. Met fans are true baseball fans who have been with them no matter what. Yankees may have more support but the Mets are getting closer each year.

Well, the Bronx Bombers have been around alot longer than the Mets. Mets fans are still recovering from the days of the Brooklyn Dodgers

The Yankees definitely have more fans. The Yankees have the biggest fan base in sports.

In Queens,Brooklyn and the rest of long island it's the Mets.But north of the city and in the Bronx,Manhattan,Staten Island it's 80%Yankees,18%Mets,2%other.

There are more real Yankee fans than Met fans, although there are the fairweather Yankee fans who just say their Yank fans, and go to games, but can't name who's on the mound.

lets see... if you asked this question up till 1994 it would have been the mets... but then all the band-wagon yankee fans jumped aboard once all the big bucks brought(bought) in world championships. but lets face it, every new yorker can root for the mets because they have been the underdog for many years. unlike the yankees... you either them or love them.

It's no doubt the Yankees, mainly because most of their fans are front-runners. Yankees fans are much like Dallas Cowboy fans...loud when they win, and silent and cowering when they lose.
I notice also that Yankee fans aren't really baseball fans. Just on the bandwagon for a ride.
