They now have decent pitching, their lineup will only continue to get better, and we have the most passionate fans to support us.

The Mets and Phillies are the top two teams in the NL. Whichever one doesn't win the division will probably end up with the Wild Card.
They've revamped their starting pitching somewhat, but their bullpen is still lacking in areas. On the flip side the Mets rotation is in disarray, but their bullpen is formidable. In terms of hitting, the Phillies have the better hitter (Howard), but the Mets have the deeper order. It'll be fun to watch the race for the pennant, and hopefully some team with a record deserving of the WS will make it this year.
The Phillies main problem is their lack of postseason experience, but sometimes that doesn't matter at all. Certainly with all the moves they've made this off-season there is more reason to be confident this year than any of the past years.
I've been to Phillies, Yankees, and Mets games. I am a Met fan, but the Phillies fans are some of the most passionate and quirky fans I've seen. Yankee fans are usually just overconfident and haughty (with some exceptions).
Good Luck.

I don't think they are going to make the World Series. I like the Phillies, but I don't think that Philadelphia has the most passionate fans. The Yankee fans are the most passionate fans in baseball. I would like to see the Phillies beat the Mets in the NL east.

With Utley and Howard, it is hard not to love the lineup. I'm still not sold on the pitching. I think Eaton was a bad signing actually. They will go were Hamels and Myers take them. Plus the bullpen is still weak in my opinion.

Still I think they have a good chance of winning the NL East and then once you are in the playoffs, anything can happen.

Last year was phillies year but they blew it -- they don't get another turn till the year after the cubs win the world series.

They are in a tough division with the Mets and the Braves. Even if they make it to the WS the AL is a superior league.
