The home run is the most exciting play in baseball, no doubt. Leading up to the start of another baseball season, I pose the above question. For me, it would have to be the game-winning home run I saw 10 years ago in Pittsburgh. I was at the game where Francisco Cordova took a no-hitter to the 9th inning, only to be relieved by Ricardo Rincon in the 10th. Rincon kept the no-hitter alive at the top of the inning with a stout pitching effort. In the bottom of the inning, the Pirates and Astros were still in a scoreless tie. Two baserunners later, Mark Smith stepped to the plate. In a scene that could have come from a movie, Smith slams a tree-run bomb, sealing the no-hitter and at that point, sending the Pirates into a first place tie with the Astros for the NL Central lead. That night was a great night to be a Pirates fan.

I just found a baseball in the warehouse that I work at and I'm trying to find out who has signed it. All it has written on it is "Home Run 4-17-93" and a name, but I can't read the name. I'm trying to find out who signed it by the date written on it. Can anyone help?

Why won't someone who cares about baseball buy the Braves. They could easily be a power house with the Yankees and Red Sox if they could get ownership that really cares. If the Braves lose Andruw(even he said it in a recent article on MLB.com) it will be because they werent willing to make it right. He even said he wouldnt demand as much as others like Soriano and Wells. What'd ya think?

How do you think their starters will fare? They've got two guys at 35+ (Pettitte and Mussina, both of whom have very little injury history), a young guy who looks like a keeper (Wang), a guy who's been hurt forever (Pavano), and a Japenese import (Igawa). They also have Philip Hughes waiting in the wings.

Their offense should score a ton of runs, so they'll just their starters to do only a decent job. How do you think this group will do?
