I just found a baseball in the warehouse that I work at and I'm trying to find out who has signed it. All it has written on it is "Home Run 4-17-93" and a name, but I can't read the name. I'm trying to find out who signed it by the date written on it. Can anyone help?

go to retrosheet.org
This URL is all the boxscores from that date;
http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/04171993.htm

You might be able to narrow it down.

Although RetroSheet is a good site and a valid answer on this thread, I would recommend that you check
baseball-almanac.com The best way to find that info is to go to the TEAMS button on the left, and find anyteam in the league. When you find the year you are looking for, click on it and it will bring up the W-L record on a game by game list. There, you can click on the date of a certain game and it will bring up all of the box scores and stats for that day in baseball history.

I agree that looking at old box scores will probably be a good way to find it. The only problem is that there could be as many as 15 games played on that day and anyone one of them could have had a home run hit in them. Try to find someone who's an expert in autographs (you can usually find them at places that specialize in sports collectibles, or at collectibles conventions) and they might be able to analize it for you.
