Correct about the Mets. As for the Knicks and Isles, blue and orange are the county and city flag colors, the colors were adopted for king William of Orange-Nassau, a Dutch king who also reigned over England in the late 1600's. Nassau county is a namesake of his as well as Orange County. New York was formerly New Amsterdam and New Orange at the time of his reign
