Why won't someone who cares about baseball buy the Braves. They could easily be a power house with the Yankees and Red Sox if they could get ownership that really cares. If the Braves lose Andruw(even he said it in a recent article on MLB.com) it will be because they werent willing to make it right. He even said he wouldnt demand as much as others like Soriano and Wells. What'd ya think?

I have been a Braves fan for as long as I can remember. I used to go to Cubs games on the bus from Whirlpool with my dad, and we always went when the game was against the Braves..needless to say by the end of the game I was being told I was walking back to Michigan if I didn't start cheering for the right team(Cubs). It's one of my fondest memories :)

I wish someone who cared would buy them...Jones is one of my favorite players, just for his obvious joy in the game. He is always so happy, he's like a little kid excited to be out there doing what he loves. It would be a shame if we lost him from the Braves.

He's going to push to stay... He wants to finish his career in Atlanta. He was asked recently if he would settle for less pay than other players are getting to stay, he said that he doesn't care for a HUGE contract like Soriano and Wells got - he just wants it to be fair. His heart is in Atlanta and that's where he wants to stay. He even said that he's going to try and negotitate for an 8-year contract with Atlanta in hopes of being able to stay there until he retires. This whole thing is getting heated up because he's got Scott Boras as his agent, and he's notorious for getting players huge contracts with other ball clubs. But Andruw said specifically that he is the decision maker and Boras is just the negotiator. And with the ownership of the Braves up in the air right now, they may not even get into negotiations by Spring Training and he refuses to negotiate during the season. I see him staying in Atlanta for quite a while!!!

I dread this season because of that. The Braves need an owner that cares. I can't stand what has been happening to the Braves ever since Time-Warner stepped in the picture. I hope they keep Andruw, but I see him leaving. :-(

I certainly hope so!! I have been a Braves fan for 50 years, even when they were in Boston and Milwaukee and now in Atlanta. Andruw has to be singularly the MOST exciting baseball player in their history with the possible exception of his namesake, the "other" Jones. (Chipper) They will sign him to a long contract. He has earned that!! If they do not, they will lose many fans!!

Chow!!

I think that Andruw is gone after this year. He's going to ask for Soriano money and the Braves are going to balk at it. It's a shame because he grew up in the organization.

If the Braves are out of the running by the trade deadline, then they will most likely offer Jones to as many teams that would be willing to pay their price, which is going to be young players- blue chip prospects, etc. He can, of course, veto any trade and may very well play out his contract and sign elsewhere when the season ends.
My personal opinion is that he is the best CF in baseball.

they're all my popular Spring brings in the recent, summer is the relaxing time of warmth from the solar and water for swimming and cooking outdoors. Then comes fall the colours are appropriate and the air is cool. The iciness comes and seems to make the international calmer, i admire the snow and ice we get because of the fact the moon hits it and flickers like a wonderland.

I hope they don't. I am a big Braves fan, and truly appreciate all that Andruw does for the team. Keep him!

You would think that such a rich company as time warner is they would be able to compomise richly, but nooooo.. I think they will lose Chipper first then Andrew. Chipper has had more injuries than Dru. Chippers ankle and knee is going out fast.
I think to that if they had an owner like the man that owns Home Depot, they would be set.

They might as well keep him.

All of their players are old!

They really need to start over and get some young talent.

I see them sitting in last place for a few years.

The Mets will take the division again, until the braves rebuild.
