yankees pictcher cory lidle got into a plane crash and is dead

I don't know if rumor or not, but its circulated that yankee pitcher corey lidle may have been one of ones killed on that plane that
crashed into the side of the building in Manhatten.

If it's true, thats messed up. I'm sure just an accident, but a strange coincidence esp. after the yankees were badly beaten in their postseason series with the tigers.

Do you think Yankee fans blame A-Rod for Cory Lidle's death?

What the #($*! Baseball season is not over yet people!
I am so sick that just because NYY got eliminated, the stupid broadcasters think the center of the universe has crashed and burned.
Sorry, folks, Steinbrenner failed... again.
The NYY fat payroll didn't pan out... again
and maybe the Yankees should thank their lucky stars they were not swept, just beaten by the lowly Detroit Tigers.

So it is still Game On! Be a "TRUE" baseball fan and watch the Mets/Cards and Tigers/ A's. Life does not revolve around whether or not A-Rod waives his no trade clause, or whether Torre has a job in a few months.

WHO REALLY CARES ABOUT THOSE LOSERS!!?

In baseball, you know how ballparks have the netting around homeplate, well what if there was a foul ball coming right on the other side and you stuck out your glove and caught it but the net was seperating the ball and your glove, but the ball is still in your glove. Would it be an out?

if the tigers have their title hopes in rogers hands then there in trouble. their punch and judy hitters will not get no rings.. sean casey? craig monroe? you got to be kidding me...they werent in the yankees class.. when randy johnson is your third game starter and jaret wright your fourth.. i knew we were in trouble... the tigers werent the best team, they struck out more than every team in base ball, had the second fewest walks, lost 12 of their last 17 and lost the division and home field advantage. they had two pitchers who threw career games and faced a team with a depleted staff. that call at third in the third game was weak and cost them the game. things will never fall in place for one team so easily again.. folks they aint that good.. the twins and the a's are better too.

OK, I asked what is the maximum number of legal pitches one batter can take before recording an out, walk or hit? This includes balls and strikes, forget the foul balls.

Here's the answer:

There are two outs. There's a man on first, and the count is three balls, one strike. The pitcher throws a strike and the man at first attempts to steal second, and gets thrown out.

The batter has a count of 3-2 (5 pitches), but the side is retired. He comes up as the first batter in the next inning, so he can take another full count and then can strike out or take a base on balls for 6 pitches. That's 11 total.

Everyone thought the tigers were done when they went 19-31 and blew the division title and the twins finished the season on a roll. But in the playoffs, it was the tigers who got hot and the twins who got swept out of the first round. Three out of four of the first round series were also won by the team without homefield advantage. And it wasn't that shocking that the yankees lost, since they lose every year.

All you hear is what a great job Leland did this year! Well shouldn't Trammell get some of the credit? The only player the Tigers added was Rogers and Jones and Casey at the end of the season. Trammell let Roberson and Bonderman get thier lumps and grow up. Yeah they got beat up but they learned how to play. So, how much credit does Trammell get?
