All you hear is what a great job Leland did this year! Well shouldn't Trammell get some of the credit? The only player the Tigers added was Rogers and Jones and Casey at the end of the season. Trammell let Roberson and Bonderman get thier lumps and grow up. Yeah they got beat up but they learned how to play. So, how much credit does Trammell get?

There were signs of improvement the last half of the season.

Good Point.

Trammell does get some credit, and Jim Leyland has already said so.

The Thing about Trammell (and God I loved him as a player!) being a manager is that he was too nice a guy.

He let the players walk all over him.

Jim Leyland is more disciplined and wont have any of that mess (players slacking).

Trammell had one more year on his contract when he was let go. If Trammell had been allowed to manage The Tigers this year, no way do The Tigers win 95 games in the regular season.

No disrespect meant to Tram, he was the man as a player...but not as manager.

Jim Leyland has come in and made sure the Players are prepared for every game, and has taken all the heat for when things go wrong. He has this team believing in themselves.

Not saying Tram didnt, but Leyland is doing it more effectively.

Yeah, Trammell should get some credit. He did help to boost these guys when no one else would.

First, it is Leyland, not Leland. And last year with Trammell they lost 91 games. Three years ago they lost 119. The credit that Trammell gets is he left so graciously admitting he didn't get the job done. I am sure is is just as happy for the Tigers as the rest of their fans!

GO TIGERS!

You prove the point in your question. If the Tigers only added 3 players WHAT ELSE CHANGED. I loved Allen as a player and wanted him do do good as a manager. Allen deserves some credit but 90% has to go to Leyland

Well considering the same team only won 70 games last year, obviously it has something to do with the manager, his managing style, knowlegde of the game, no nonsense approach, so that's why Leyland, not Leland (he's not Dog the bounty hunter's son) gets all the credit, without him they don't make the playoffs.

None. Even with the development that Trammell provided, Leyland clearly has that team playing above their combined talent level, in my opinion.

sorry, but the credit is in the numbers; Trammell's record with the Tigers is 186-300. That is pretty pathetic.

Cause they sucked for so long and then Leland comes out of retirement and its the Pirates all over again - a team playing above its talent level or atleast payroll level.
