If Ellis was in, he would have turned in the DP that Jiminez throw away and it could have been a different game...

Not that much. He wasn't one of their star players. Detroit just flat-out beat the A's in Game 1, and there wasn't anything that Ellis could've done about it.

mark ellis had a great year last year but this year he had real problems at the plate. I'm sure they wished he was playing but i don't think it would make that much difference! by the way i drafted mark ellis on my fantasy teams. i think, like a-rod, he had a sub-par year.
