Yesterday, when the tragic news of the plane crash was still unfolding, one of the anchors made the statement the "Cory Lidle was killed in the accident, which involved his plane, but no one has said this yet because his wife has not been notified" -- Is this yet another sign that the media has gone to far, and has no respect for anyone in the name of being the first to get the story? Seriously, think about it, if you were his wife, would you want to hear of your husband's death on an INTERNATIONAL BROADCAST? I think ESPN, and all the news outlets involved yesterday, should make open air apologies to his family for not having the slightest respect for their grief.

Your opinions, please.

-That would have gotten the Yankees out of that contract I suppose and they wouldn't have had to be 2nd guessed about trading away the 2005 MVP who slumped this season.

Just as George wondered about on "Seinfeld."

Teams travel almost every week, mostly by plane. 160+ games a year.

I heard before the game last night they had a moment of silence for him, but do you think that MLB will do a good job of honoring him?

1.Lidle would be practicing rather than flying if the Yankees beat the Tigers.
2. A-Rod deseves most of the blame for the Yankees losing because he played the worst so,
3.A-Rod killed Cory Lidle (indirectly)

I love the Yankee Pinstripes but I honestly prefer to see them in their greys.
That color looks great on everyone.
What do you prefer to see your team in?

The Tigers now?
All season long I have been overly cautious and optermistic.
They beat the yankees, and I couldn't believe it.

With last night's win (and they way they won. Gomez with 4RBI), it's time to take all that pent up caution and joyous excitement to the streets!

Repeat after me:

"I BELIEVE!"

Praise Jim Leyland and pass the World Series rings to Detroit!

CUBS SIGN LIDLE'S REMAINS TO 3-YEAR DEAL.
(Lidle to join a rotation that already includes 2 other dead-arms... Kerry Wood and Mark Prior.)

CHICAGO. Associated Press. Jim Hendry, the general manager of the Chicago Cubs announced Thursday afternoon that he has signed Cory Lidle's remains to a 3 year 16 million dollar contract.

At a press conference at Wrigley Field Hendry said that "We have it on good authority that his pitching arm was recoved on the street below where his plane crashed. That was all I needed to hear. I made the move immediatly."

Lidle is expected to join a rotaion that already consists of two other "dead arms," those of Kerry Wood and Mark Prior.

Hendry went on to say that "Both Mark and Kerry are excited that a third 'dead arm' will join them in next year's rotation. I expect all three to be on the DL by the second week of the season."
