CUBS SIGN LIDLE'S REMAINS TO 3-YEAR DEAL.
(Lidle to join a rotation that already includes 2 other dead-arms... Kerry Wood and Mark Prior.)
CHICAGO. Associated Press. Jim Hendry, the general manager of the Chicago Cubs announced Thursday afternoon that he has signed Cory Lidle's remains to a 3 year 16 million dollar contract.
At a press conference at Wrigley Field Hendry said that "We have it on good authority that his pitching arm was recoved on the street below where his plane crashed. That was all I needed to hear. I made the move immediatly."
Lidle is expected to join a rotaion that already consists of two other "dead arms," those of Kerry Wood and Mark Prior.
Hendry went on to say that "Both Mark and Kerry are excited that a third 'dead arm' will join them in next year's rotation. I expect all three to be on the DL by the second week of the season."

The only question now that remains is: "Who will manage the Cubs next year?"
While Hendry refused to comment on the search for a new manager, sources within the Cubs organization have hinted that the Cubs are activly searching for a way to bring Ted Williams back from the dead.
The source said, "If the Cubs can successfully de-thaw Williams, he would be a perfect candidate to replace Dusty Baker, a man who has been rumored to be medically brain-dead since 2003."
