I heard before the game last night they had a moment of silence for him, but do you think that MLB will do a good job of honoring him?

Even though he died after he retired Kirby Puckett's # 34 was retired.

Not really. There was talk on sports radio of calling the NLCS game (it was but due to rain only). If in his honor,it would've been appropriate especially since he came to the majors as a Met. We'll see what happens next season. Hopefully he won't be forgotted by MLB especially since this happened during Cory's offseason.

I don't know but the Yankees will probably wear #30 on their uniforms next year in his honor but I don't think they will retire the
number. As far as I know only one team has honored a deceased players number and that was the Astros with pitcher
Jim Umbright. I think it was #32 (not sure)

It is only by luck that his actions didn't cost the lives of many innocent people. I expect them to take a wait and see attitude to this. Maybe it was just an accident but the fact remains that he was in an area that he shouldn't have been flying in.

Definately, considering he was just an average pitcher at best.

BTW kingarmy, Thurman Munson's number was also retired.
