they are both with Hendrick's, and both use the same mechanic's, engine people, etc. Johnson's car always has more speed. Why not Gordon's? Gordon has got to have the slowest of all the Hendrick's cars. Is it the car, or is it Gordon's laid back attitude with his driving? I can't believe he just gives up with a race to go. If you want it...one fights it to the end.The fat lady has not sung yet.

Excluding the Daytona 500 which sponsor still uses their name as the primary sponsor of the race. Aaron's 500 being one example or the above mentioned Dickies 500.

I myself am not a fan of NASCAR, but I'm not going to sit here and say that it's horrible. My aunt and cousins are all avid fans. I was just wondering what it is about NASCAR that has the female fans watching.

I watched his interview on Wind Tunnel a couple of months ago, and this guy likes Indy. Does anyone think that with his fifth place finish at Indy this year (with a Penske lease car), that he might be the man to beat next year ? Or will he falter like he did at Ganassi ? Also, please post any current news in open wheel (Champ Car or IRL).

Is it a sure bet that Jimmie Johnson is this year's Nextel Cup Champ? Is it possible that Jeff Gordon could come out ahead next week? I'm kinda new to NASCAR and drew Jimmie's name in a pool at work.

This article in NASCAR.com truly describes the true sportsmanship of two of NASCAR's greatest drivers, Jeff Grodon and Jimmie Johnson
Many fans called Jeff Gordon a whiner but can he still hold that title after this:

"Those guys have flat-out killed everybody," Gordon said of Johnson's No. 48 team. "You've got to give credit where credit is due, and those guys deserve a lot of credit. We didn't step up and win the races when we needed to. We gave them a run for a while, but now we have to figure out how to get the best finish we can at Homestead and go into the off-season on a positive note." (Source: NASCAR.com)

Even after Jeff claimed so strongly that it was over, Jimmie and Chad would not admit that this championship was theirs.
Jeff deserved this championship but Jimmie took it away.
What do you think?

There seemed to be alot of wrecks/accidents in the 1998-2003/4 years. With them seemed to be quite a few accidents.
I know it was Adam Petty and Dale Sr. I heard there were more. What others were there?

Which driver do you want to take the Cup this year? And which one do you think will take it?

which do you prefer? for me its LMS, you get variation in the types of cars, cars there which you can get orgasms of because they look so good, if you dont like long races you can watch the last hour and half or so, if you like endurance races you can watch whole 6 hours, or full 24 at the actual thing. F1 is a rigged procession, and NASCAR is boring to watch, cars just going round and round in circles for ages. what is the point of em XD.

It seems to me that no matter what the other teams do to win, they just can't compete with the bigger names of NASCAR. I believe this sport has become way to mainstream and sponsership heavy. This sport is nothing like the NFL when anyteam can win any game. Some NFL teams rise to greatness one year then the next year can't muchless win a game. Should NASCAR regulate teams to make sure that not only the measurements on the cars the same, but that teams have the same chance due to testing, money, sponsorship, etc. Maybe there should be some sort of salary cap on NASCAR teams.

I'm not a NASCAR fanatic but have some interest in it.

But, the way that the Chase is set up keeps me unimpressed.

I think that the top 5 spots in a race should get points. No one else gets any points.

I don't understand the concept of giving points for leading laps and not winning. I could care less if my favorite driver didn't lead any laps until the end of the race.

I don't understand why someone who has won a handful of races should "fall behind" because he gets in a wreck early in the next race and, thus, can't earn any points.

What counts should be winning or being in the top 5. Nothing else should carry any weight.

I also don't believe that a guy who comes in 5th several times is worth as much as a guy who wins 1 or 2 times.

Any fans of NASCAR want to "enlighten" me?
