Jimmy Johnson and his crew chief (Chad Knaus) have won 10 races to Jeff Gordon's 6. (They won the last 4 in a row)
They are 86 points in front of Gordon and destined to win the Cup this year. I'm not a Johnson fan, but you have to give credit where's it's due.

Don't know exactly what you mean by "overall" points. But in the Cup series, the way NASCAR computes them in 2007, it is the Jimmie Johnson with 6572 total points.

Before the chase started Gordon had a huge lead..But during the chase Jimmie Johnson has the lead now..I know all Gordon fans are saying he was robbed again..

From the 1st of the season Jeff still has the most points scored--Under the Old Points system he would be ahead by 172 Points now if my math is correct!!!!!

Jeff Gordon has the most points scored. He has scored the most points in a season 6 times, but thanks to "the chase", he only has 4 titles. Go Brian France!
