Would that be news?
Switching from one dying series to another dying series that hardly anyone cares about!?
I loved it back in the day when Zanarid and Montoya were racing in the series but now it is really bad racing!
I got three thumbs down for telling the truth!

If Newman/Haas jumped over to IRL, that would nearly do Champ Car in.
But I think that within the next year or two anyway, Champ Car and IRL will end up merging.

I think within another year the 2 series will merge. But for next year NO Newman-Haas will still be with champ car. The teams website has their next race posted as being 2008 SEASON: RACE 01
APRIL 20
TOYOTA GRAND PRIX
OF LONG BEACH
IN THE STREETS OF
LONG BEACH, CA [USA]
So they will not switch at this point.

Everything that I've heard indicates that this rumor has no basis in truth. As a fan of IRL, I would love it to be true but highly doubt it at this point.

I have herd rumors as well but nothing concrete. With the new pay-out it would not surprise me one bit if some of the CART teams come to IRL, at least the 500 is nothing else.

All I have heard is rumors, it would be great. I think they should do it atleast for the Indy 500..so we can have a full field of 33 and a actual real bump day like in the past....
