I believe they have gotten along well so far but Cup racing has been known to splinter friendships.
It looks like some of Jeff's fans are getting a little irked with Knaus at least, maybe it was something Gordon said?
Something about information sharing between the teams being based on trust, I believe.
** (Gordon and Johnson are friends off the track and supposedly share information on car setup to benefit the entire operation, although Gordon is beginning to wonder about that as Johnson's Chevy worked well in traffic while Gordon's did not.
"That's obvious that we didn't," Gordon said. "We share information every weekend and one of us is going to win and one of us isn't. Sometimes it works together. Just because we're sharing information doesn't mean that we're going to run exactly the same. We drive different enough and I know what's under their car and I always shake my head. I don't see how they make that work.") **
Come to think of it, Knaus does know a lot of ways to screw up a set, just a little.
I don't buy that, really!
IMO, so far in this Chase, Gordon has just simply straight up been shot down.
**** ("But Jimmie's driving style is just different enough that it does {work} and they are just flat-out stomping not just us, but everybody right now. I'm just bummed out that we're not getting it done the way I know I'm capable of.") ****
Capable or not, he hasn’t gotten it done so far, and I don’t believe Gordon is one to have self-doubt.
Everybody remembers Earnhardt’s nightmare of winning everything in sight and having to listen to “Jaws” say, “but you never won the Daytona 500”.
Gordon’s nightmare is hearing Jimmie say, “but you never won The Chase”.
One thing for sure, if Jimmie races for the win in Homestead and gets it, he will have set the standard by which all future Champs will be judged.
Lest we forget, he’s only 9 points shy in 2004 and 18th or better come Sunday from having 3 Cups in 4 Chases.
He missed a Cup under the old system by 90 points, finishing 2nd in 2003.
Hmmm....I wonder how a Chase would have turned out that year. I believe I will "crunch" some numbers.

I know that Jeff wasn't real happy with Jimmie at the spring race in Martinsville but I don't think they have had a long lasting feud before. Jimmie is actually better friends with Casey Mears and doesn't really socialize very much with Jeff.

Jeff Gordon as of excellent now. even nonetheless Jimmie is an magnificent driving force, probably on his thank you to his third championship. undecided whilst Gordon will retire, yet Jimmie has a thank you to bypass and ought to probably come genuine close or beat his checklist.

I'm sure they have had their differences, but a feud? No way they both have way to much class, to let something like that happen. They would not be the drivers they are if they had any atomicity between them!

Nothing major, but there have ben a few time Jeff has been mad at the way Jimmie (as well as his other Hendrick teammates) races him on occasion.
