It sound like a way to instantly have fans rooting against you. I see a lot of angry Jr fans and no souvenir sales.

All of the sportscasters use his full name but none of the other drivers have that priviledge. Take Jeff Gordon and Dale Jr. for instance, they either say Jeff Gordon or Gordon or that 24 car and the same for Jr. It makes me sick that think they have to use his whole friggin name like he is a god or something.

Why not just say Montoya or Juan or just Juan Montoya????

With Teresa continuing to be.... well.... 'difficult'... What about Gibbs buying the rights to the #3 from RCR?

THAT would be cool.

Sure DEI is a pretty good team; solid cars week in and week out, except for the fact the engines blow every so often. But who would really want to drive the 8 next year? With Theresa being such a ***** I think Earnhardt fans are instantally going to hate whoever is driving the 8 car...they need something to do now that Gordon and Johnson are his teamates. What do you think? Earnhardt fans will you hate the 8 no matter whose driving it?

drive in circles every day on the freeway. Playing video games has given me some great hand-eye coordination. But does my need to employ that hand-eye coordination to avoid accidents make me an athlete? I wish, but no.
No competition should be granted "sport" status until its athletes' god-given athletic abilities and talents determine their chances at victory in that particular "sport." The natural talents of NASCAR participants do not determine their success in an event. They rely on the equipment they operate and other people around them to have a chance at winning. Does a different brand of football (soccer ball) or a different company's batting gloves on a baseball player have any bearing on the outcome of those sports? No.Then there's the whole athlete thing. NASCAR drivers are not athletes, for the most part.

I like Dario, and he's still the favorite for the championship, but after the last few races, he must be trying to get some bonus miles or something. Great thing that noone's gotten injured. Next race is Sonoma. Let's hope he's done with his frequent flier miles.

So I open the mail today and inside one letter from Infineon Raceway is a FREE Sunday raceday ticket to the Indy race at that track later this month. The thing has a $55 face value. Apparently I got it for buying a pair of the cheapest NASCAR tickets available to the race up there in June. Plus I get 20% off any other tickets I might want to buy.

How desperate must the IRL and Infineon be to get someone, ANYONE to come to the IRL race there if they're giving away free tickets to joe blow NASCAR fan like me? I mean I've heard of giving tickets to charities or corporate sponsors... but to average race fans? Ticket sales must be really slow to the Infineon race.

And her's a sub question, if this is the case, does IRL have any future on the west coast? Champ Car seems to be doing pretty good out here... but no IRL.

This isn't a question. I just thought of this joke and had to tell it.

I used to watch F1 now and again because the speed and power excited me, and Michael Schumacher was interesting to watch from time to time. Honestly though, the prospect of Lewis Hamilton got me watching full-on, and I've been hooked since.

So how did you become a fan of F1, and how long have you been a fan? Who's been your favourite constructor, and the one driver that got you hooked, if any?

The most interesting (true) story will get the points, or we'll put it to group vote if I can't pick a winner myself. Be as detailed as you wish.

From the removal of traction control, to night races, to McLaren supplying ECUs to all the teams; what have you heard that's going to make F1 2008 potentially dramatically different from F1 2007? Please cite sources (web page links) if you can.

I thought man, they could not have gotten any more redneck looking people to talk about Nascar....so my thought was that they were trying to stereotype us Nascar fans! I live in the country and love Nascar, but I dont look like a red neck....Lord some of those interviewed were scary! Why couldnt they get normal looking fans? I think they wanted everyone to think Nascar was just for rednecks...what about you guys?

Would you be willing to write real questions that are technical, intriguing and require research and thought, besides all this popular bashing and talking about 5 drivers? anybody know anything about the woods bros? who builds their engines? who will drive their 1 car at michigan?why do they still race? what about Hall of Fame? why don't they go get a winning driver? come on people lets give the outsiders no reason to label us..use your heads this week.

Firstly, let me say that I think Sebastien has the makings of a great F1 driver BUT coming from a topline Champ Car team (Newman Haas) to a - err- non-podium team in ToroRosso - would that be too much of a shock for him? I'm sure he knows what he's getting into and he's probably already thought about which team he'd like to go to after a year or two with STR but will he get frustrated with the (probable) lack of success in his first F1 team? Shades of Mark Webber - a great driver but always in the wrong team. Yes, I'm an Aussie, by the way!
