I don't think Dale Jr was stupid at all.. His dad made DEI for his children to be able to be part of it and his Wife isn't letting his children do that.. I think he did a great thing to break away from his Step moms control. Its also sad that he had to do that. It his legacy and he couldn't be a part of it.

dale jr was not and has never been stupid. he did what he had to do because it was not happening at dei.and to jay who said that it was not teresa because martin truex was doing good and won a race. so what. he has also had dnf"s due to blown motors too. paul menard also. so yes jr made the best move. and to think that martin truex was boasting that now that jr. wasleaving that he was going to be the big man at dei. wrong. with the merger of ginn racing that knocked truex out completely. stepmommy dearest will treat him like she done dale jr. he will leave next season because his contract is up at dei. all i can say is dale jr. did what he had to do to better himself. and he is really where he wanted to be from the get go. now he will show all you non believers what he can do and will do. something his stepmom has not givig him the equipment to do it with her. it is almost as if she wanted him gone. i guess that she just found out the she can't control him and make him in to what she wanted. i am so proud of dale jr. for stepping up to her. and to the one who made the comment just because dale jr. is going to hendricks do we have to start liking jeff gordon? the answer to that question is no way that will ever happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i will still not like jeff gordon!!!!!!!!!!!!! go dale jr. go!!

Very good for him to do what he wants, But really hate to see the company his dad took so much pride in building go to nothing soon. Sure he will win over there but DEI was and should have been all for him. Teresa should have woke up and seen that his dad would be happy for him but for sure disappointed in the company. Jr. has got most of his fans from his dad no doubt so hope they all stick with him. #3 forever

I see Junior has his dad's business sense. The move to HMS will be a huge success- a win-win for the team and Junior.

Something's not 100% right at DEI. Dale and Rick Hendrick have a great relationship and by going to HMS, Junior gets the best equipment and the support of arguably the best team in NASCAR.

More wins= more money= immortality.

Junior was stupid like a fox. Yes, it's weird that the company that bears his dad's name is not something he's a part, but nobody says that'll be forever. Junior will keep driving until he's old or dead.

Good move for Jr., bad move for Hendricks!! Kyle Bush will turn out to be a much more successful driver than Jr. will. Jr. is a cool guy and very like able, but people need to except him for exactly what he is and always has been on the track; an AVERAGE driver. Finally, he'll have the support of the best team and the best equipment. When he still doesn't perform, no one will have anymore excuses to give!!!! Give it up Jr. nation, your guy is just simply not that good!!! Oh and never forget it takes three #8 to equal one #24!!! At least for a little while longer...

I think it was one of the smartest moves he could have made. Theresa Earnhardt was doing nothing for the team. She was not investing any money into the Car of Tomorrow. She is almost never at any of the races whereas the rest of the owners are there nearly every race. Junior made the best move moving to Hendricks. He will have a good team to work with and have great equipment as well.

Dale had to leave DEI. He should have left sooner. To everyone that thinks DEI has shabby equipment, you need to look again. Martin Truex is running well and even has a win. Yeah, DEI needs to improve, and that is happening. With Mark Martin's influence, DEI could really turn some heads next year.

anybody continuously complained that Jeff Gordon whined and complained yet considering the fact that he and Dale became acquaintances all Dale "the snail" does is whine, *****, and blame each and everything and anybody because of the fact he can't win until the different drivers block Jeff for him fairly of all of us racing. His stepmother has replace into the depraved step mom considering the fact that Dale Sr. left each and everything to her. it incredibly is superb Dale circulate away and according to probability his approach will strengthen and he or she will run DEI into the floor and circulate broke. this could be justice for her denying Dale Sr's toddlers.

Imo, Jr. did the right thing by leaving DEI. As we seen, he wasn't getting the race results he's looking for at DEI, therefore why not seek out another car owner with the possibility of getting in equipment that will put him back out in the front or at least in the top 10 each race.

I wish Jr. the best of luck.....

I think it will prove to be the best career move he could have made. DEI is going nowhere fast. Their only hope is the RCR engine package. I mean, they've got Teresa and Max, two people who know JACK SQUAT about racing, running that joint now. C'mon, give me a break!
