According to today’s episode of Sherdog’s The Savage Dog Show/BeatDown, UFC majority owners Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta have purchased the Japenese-based PRIDE Fighting Championships for a startling-low price of $65 million. (You can find a heated discussion on the Sherdog Forums.)

The show is relying an anonymous source that is said to be “very reliable,” and an official announcement is expected to come on Wednesday.

PRIDE, the UFC’s biggest competitor and perhaps the world’s most recognizable MMA organization, has reportedly suffered a variety of hardships during the past year. Rumors of its potential sale have circulated constantly in the past couple months, with current PRIDE USA Vice President Ed Fishman and the Zuffa LLC-owned UFC emerging as the two most-likely suitors.

The fact that the Fertittas, not Zuffa, are the rumored buyers is surprising at first take. Surely there’s more to the story, but we’ll have to wait.

I am from Vancouver, and I remember at the beginning of the season, there were no expectations for the Canucks. We were laughing at the thought of making the playoffs! Now, the Canucks are on top of their division, and are Stanley Cup contenders, and it is all because of the solid goaltending by Luongo. How can you not give him the MVP?

i didn't get to see raw but I read Orton made edge defend his mintb spot in a battle royal. and edge won. orton didn't have to put his mintb oppurtiny on the line like that. so therefor i think edge might be going face.

Your team trailed the series 2W 3L. You decided to use all your starters but save one for possible game 7. After 9 innings, your team made a good come back and tie the scores. The game goes on for 5 extra innings (make it a 14 inning game) and it's still a tie game. Therefore, you have pretty much used all your pitchers. The only two left are (1)the rookie pitcher with 1W4L, 9.25 era ; And (2) the Game 7 starter.
Who will you send to the mound? If you choose the game 7 starter, how are you gonna arrange your game 7 pitching?
