I'm sorry, but what a stupid question! That's part of what made Jordan so great is that he took all those teams to the championship. Look at Karl Malone, and ask what people think of him. Now you want to say Jordan isn't better than malone? Malone never won, but is thought of as one of the (if not THE ) greatest power forwards ever. If you want to talk about someone like Joe Namath who is big BECAUSE he won ONE great championship then fine. But to say that about Jordan (who won 6, can would have likely won at least one more if he hadn't "retired" for two years) is just silly.

I remember that before his first title season (1990-1991), he had played six seasons in the NBA and lots were already considering him one of the the greatest players of all time. Certainly one of the 2 or 3 greatest guards ever.

And that was even without championships. So if he had continued with his pace, he would still be considered one of the all time Top 10 players at least.

But Jordan's multiple titles are precise testament to the fact of his greatness and that he may deserve the label of NUMBER ONE.

Jordan changed the game in lots of ways, so even with no titles I believe he would still be considered one of the top 5 ever...his mental as well as physical strength is what carried him to the rings though. He just hated losing and "willed" his teams to many wins they wouldn't have gotten otherwise. If U take away the titles it definitely downgrades him, but comparing him to Dominique is outrageous and laughable...Jordan was a complete player in every phase of the game..check out the defensive MVP's and 1st team all NBA defense awards. Dominique couldn't hold Jordans jock

He would still be considered one of the greatest player who played in the NBA. The guy personified NBA basketball. Will we see Kobe, T-Mac, Lebron or D-Wade play like themselves if it wasn't for Jordan? Event though I was still a young kid when Jordan was in his prime, I respect the things he did in the hard court.

He would have just been a "bald-headed Dominique"......lol

J Lee..... Wilt Chamberlain used to shoot his free throws by dunking the ball from the foul line. The NBA actually changed the rules prohibiting this because of Wilt.

And.....Jordan's foot was clearly on the line when he made that dunk ( in Chicago, ironically) to beat Dominique.

I didn't know that a "defensive MVP" award even existed. So what are these "defensive MVP's" that you're talking about??

And why didn't he "will" North Carolina to victory his last 2 years in college?

And why didn't he "will" the Bulls to victory in 1985,86,87,88,89, or 90??

And when he came out of retirement, why didn't he "will" the Bulls to victory in 1995???

And why didn't he "will" the Wizards to victory in 2002 or 2003???

Maybe because his ability to "will" his teams to victory was nothing but a myth.

Like I said, without those titles, he's just a bald-headed Dominique!!

I think he'd be somewhere between 5 and 10. He'd be behind guys like Wilt, Russell, Bird, Magic, Jabbar, Oscar Robertson, guys like that if he didn't win all those championships.

the point in him being so great has to do with the championships, he won 6.
