Got to go with Crosby. Plus he is getting all the press right now.

Being a Flames fan, it is hard for me to say this but Luongo deserves to be the Hart Trophy winner (the player judged to be the most valuable to his team). This is easy to say, as the Canucks in front of him are horrible, and Luongo is the reason for the Canucks success this season.
That being said, I believe the Vezina should go to Brodeur for being the best goalie. Nothing against Luongo, but Brodeur is the better of the two goalies, it is just that Brodeur has a slightly better team in front of him that can actually win a game or two on their own.....unlike the Canucks.

Brodeur and Luongo are both having a great season, the only difference is their shut out totals. Brodeur has performed well on a consistent basis, while this is the first year Luongo has played this well. I think that Brodeur has the edge since he has played at that level on a year to year basis.

Look at the precedent set by the NBA: they give it to the guy who makes his TEAM BETTER, without him his team is far worse. They don't base it on individual statistics.
In the NHL, you could take Sidney Crosby off his team, and sure, they'd have far less offensive production, but they would probably still be a playoff team with Malkin, Recchi and Staal.
To me, it's a question between Luongo and Brodeur. Luongo has been absolutely amazing for the Canucks, without him they would not even be in the playoffs, let alone 1st place in the Northwest. Similar stuff for Brodeur - and his stats this year have been particularly spectacular.
So, I flipped a coin, Luongo=Heads, Brodeur=Tails.
Winner: Heads --> Luongo is your MVP

Luongo would be third right now for League MVP. Brodeur comes first in my opinion. Despite the loss of a couple of key players on the blue line during the off-season Brodeur hasn't lost a step. Secondly on my list would be Lecavalier, where would Tampa be right now without him. Then it would be Luongo. As good as his number have been this season, Brodeur is the guy to beat.

Hey, the Canucks beat the crap out of us on saturday, and while Luongo had alot of good saves they doubledup the shots on us and their offense was really explosive. The Sedin's have come into their own and Vancouver looks like a dark horse to come out of the west this year. Getting Sopel back seems to have helped them alot.

yes he is having a great year and I'm not putting him down for it. Martin Brodeur is most luckily going to win the MVP award this year as the Devils are one of the lowest scoring team and also with the lest goals scored against but remember Brodeur has also faced the most shots then any other goalie did this year and his GAA and SP% are in the top 3 of the league, so i really think he will win it this year.
second player would be Sid the Kid he has a really good shot at winning the MVP also it will be a tight race between all 3.
everybody knew that the Canucks where going to be a better team with Luongo in nets. yes he didn't have the best start and playing great now. i still going to have to put Brodeur 1st Crosby 2nd then Luongo 3rd, in this race.

nope... not this year...
his stats are very close to Brodeur's but Brodeur has 12 shutouts compared to Luongo's 3... (Devils and Canucks team records are identical; standings, goals for, and goals agianst... so none of that *Brodeur's on a better team* crap pls)
I don't think any forwards or defensmen is deserving of MVP this year... aside from Lecavalier (will have 50 goals but is a -3) and Heatley (92 pts, 8gwg and +25), no one's overall stats has knocked me out of my chair... Crosby (76assists, 108pts and 43PPA) is a nice surprise considering his age (age doesn't count in the voting process... so scrap that argument) and leads the league in point total, but his overall stats aren't MVP material... yet
This is Brodeur's year...
RE: The Hart Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the Most Valuable Player in the National Hockey League. The voting is conducted by members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association to judge the player who is the most valuable to his team during the regular season.
I'm not dissing Luongo, he's an amazing goalie... both Devils and Canucks are one line teams, after that both teams are sorta so so... both goalies stats are almost identical, except the shutouts, thats why I give Brodeur the edge...
therefore its obvious this year Luongo is not better then Brodeur..!

there have been rumours like this on the grounds that 0.5-way in the direction of the season. All in all i might ought to declare this is fake except Bobby Lu asks to be moved which I doubt very lots will ensue till now his contract runs out. he's never performed in an particularly committed "hockey marketplace" and he's never been area of an honest team till now. He has suggested that he's happy right here and you are able to tell as some distance because of the fact the marketplace is worried this is genuine. He merely would not desire to lose! As for his spouse and their baby, this has no longer something to do with being "on the fringe of his kinfolk" because of the fact his spouse replace into right here with him for the excellent first season with the Canucks and it replace into in elementary terms till she had being pregnant problems that his spouse went to Florida to be nearer to her kinfolk. just to coach how ridiculous a number of those rumours are: while the Senators have been eradicated, there replace right into a hearsay that Luongo replace into going to be traded for Spezza. The humorous factor is this awareness got here out after Dave Nonis replace into fired so the 'Nucks did no longer also have a GM on the time this hearsay got here out! Mike Gillis (Canucks new GM) has suggested that Roberto is the main suitable goalie in the international and is the team's first precedence. He has additionally suggested that for the Canucks to win each time quickly, this must be performed with Roberto in internet. i've got not heard this emphasised so strongly while Dave Nonis replace into the GM. EDIT: A %. you... Granted he has a dropping checklist and a 2.60 GAA yet this is because of the fact he spent his profession with (Mike Milbury's) Islanders and the Florida Panthers. He nonetheless has maintained a .919 profession save %age between all of that. in case you suspect him play in his first season with the Canucks, you will possibly comprehend precisely what makes this youngster so specific and arguably the main suitable goaltender in the international.

Luongo for MVP? Are you kidding me , there is way greater talent. If it weren't for the Sedin's , Luongo would be playing at the rate of Khabibulin. Good Goalies result in great defense. Considering that I would probably give the MVP Hasek.
