First off, let me say this...Tim Hardaway had a right to say what he said, its called Freedom of Speech. Let me also say, that i'm sure he isn't the first: person, black person, or even the first basketball player to say that he doesn't like gays. In my opinion, the media sounds like they are on the John's side. Maybe if he didn't use the word "hate" then this wouldn't have been such a big concern. Overall, there seems to be alot of people pissed because he said this. But you know what bothers me? Why did John Amaechi have to come out and say that he was gay?? Couldn't he have kept his comments to himself. What everyone is forgetting, or maybe ignoring, is that he has a BOOK in STORES NOW!! I mean, I'm not trying to blame Tim Hardaway's actions on John. But how come when a gay comes out, its a big deal? It's almost like its celebrated that they have come out. Also, when someone says they hate something, they might just be saying they disagree with the basis of it.

There's been a lot of fights going on at my school, almost everyday. I was thinking if I just stayed out of peoples way and avoided the bad groups, I would be fine. But just the other day a kid was jumped for no reason, they just took his cash and ran. So now I want to learn how to defend myself, but I don't want to take those classes with the different belt colors and the white uniforms, I hate wearing those. Besides, you can't use that kind of fighting on the streets, karate has rules, real fighting doesn't. I need to learn how to break a guys nose, kick a knife out of a guys hand, cause serious damage in order to give me time to get away. Are there any classes that teach that stuff? Is there a name for it? Because whenever I type "self defense" in yahoo yellow pages I always get karate locations.

I'm 6'4 220lbs and run a 4.6 40. I have been stuck there for awhile. I'm scared to do too much lifting cause I'm afraid it may cause me to gain more weight and slow me down some. But a friend told me that lifting may actually help me in sprinting. I know that it does help some. But How can I lift alot without gaining size?
