First off, let me say this...Tim Hardaway had a right to say what he said, its called Freedom of Speech. Let me also say, that i'm sure he isn't the first: person, black person, or even the first basketball player to say that he doesn't like gays. In my opinion, the media sounds like they are on the John's side. Maybe if he didn't use the word "hate" then this wouldn't have been such a big concern. Overall, there seems to be alot of people pissed because he said this. But you know what bothers me? Why did John Amaechi have to come out and say that he was gay?? Couldn't he have kept his comments to himself. What everyone is forgetting, or maybe ignoring, is that he has a BOOK in STORES NOW!! I mean, I'm not trying to blame Tim Hardaway's actions on John. But how come when a gay comes out, its a big deal? It's almost like its celebrated that they have come out. Also, when someone says they hate something, they might just be saying they disagree with the basis of it.

I firmly believe that a man shouldn’t be with a man, nor a woman with a woman. I disagree with the decisions of someone being gay just as much as I disagree with someone committing adultery or any other sins. But I won’t hate that person because of their decisions. We all need to look at the big picture here, being gay may be just as wrong as someone committing adultery(and committing adultery even means lusting over a someone when you are just looking at them). God may judge a gay person the same way he judges an adulterer(or adulteress). Also, I have seen where people have said that gay people are born gay...can someone send me a link to a reliable source that says this is 100% true. Last time I heard it hasn’t been proven yet....I would appreciate if you all could comment on what I said and maybe answer some of the questions I posed throughout, thanks

I think you raise several valid points. If someone is free to espouse gay rights and freedom then someone is equally within their rights to oppose it. But, I do feel that John Amaechi coming out is significant because it give another face to it and that is a positive thing. Can't everybody just try to get along.

i'm no longer indignant through Tim Hardaway's diatribe on the radio, i'm deeply indignant that he had to assert sorry because the nationwide media and particular interest communities like GLAAD coerced and intimidated him into it. He suggested what he suggested. He possibly meant what he suggested. Dan Le Batard requested the question and he were given an honest answer. large deal. isn't that what people are continually declaring that they prefer? are not we drained of the computer lingo that floods the airwaves? i'm. Tim Hardaway expressed an opinion it is possibly favourite between heterosexual people everywhere in the country. Why ought to he crucified for pointing out his opinion? ought to John Amaechi be crucified for pointing out that he grow to be gay? i'd say that he's the guy who all started this finished mess in the first position. at the same time as someone says that we ought to continually settle for people for who there are, that signifies that elements they prefer and the elements they don't. I say that each and each and every individual who indignant Hardaway and his kinfolk must be made to furnish a public apology to him starting up with Dan LeBatard.

This is so aggravating to go over. Just like when black people started achieving new heights and started getting black television and colleges and such. People started complaining over that. So now when gay people try to get some sort of civil rights people start flipping their lid over that. why is it that you people hate what you don't understand. coming out of the closet or building yourself up in a society that hates you and spits on your face is a big feat! You could never understand because niether are you someone of color or are you gay! even if he didn't come out public someone would have found out and mabye told everybody. Mabye if people would stop presuming that heterosexuality as a "normality" then you wouldn't have so many questions. If Tim Hardaway was just trying to say that he disagreed with it then thats what he should have said!! There is a fine line between hate and disagreemenr. His apologies are also fake. He is just trying to save face because he didn't expect such a negative reaction. Any man who is insecure with his sexuality will sit there and tell you that he doesn't want to share a locker room with a gay man! unless a gay man is in your face telling you that he wants to have sex with you then thats when you should get angry. These insecure men are so obsessed with the idea that all gay men want to have sex with them. That inturn makes men like Tim Hardaway say ignorant things and think ignorant thoughts!

I don't agree with Tim or believe he is somewhat courageos for speaking his mind...But something good will come out of this ... Communication, sharing of information..learning and growing as person as a country as a planet. This is how we will grow to become better people. Hate/prejudice towards a human bieng/group is a disease that kills this process. And when your not growing as a person..well that means your dead. Theres good people and bad people that's it, anything else doesn't matter.
Without communication, sharing of information and growing we all would still be wondering how to start fire.Or we would be extinct.

Yes, he is entitled to his opinion, free speech etc.it's the first step of sharing information. From this hopefully we will learn and grow

at least tim spoke whats on his mind... the problem is that its downright ignorant to say that kind of hate stuff in this world and age..

howver, the media is a big culprit having to sensationalize john's coming out party and tim's comments.. its obvious it's all publicity stuff for the benefit of john's book and its probably common knowledge in inner circles that tim "hates" gays.. media might have provoked him..

bottomline, sexuality (or sexual preference, lifesyle, etc) is something private and should be respected, not sensationalized, commercialized, publicize to the grandests levels.

we can debate all day if its right or wrong but it should never be handled this way even for the sake of a sensational story..

by the way, if you're wondering about my position on homosexuality, i also believe that men should not be with men (same with women) and that its just not right simply because it conflicts with the moral design.. but i respect all of them and never hate em

now on with the basketball!!

i think the media is blowing this out of proportion i don't blame Tim Hardaway for speaking his mind he couldn't help for being honest and did not sugar coat it like some people, you know the old saying honesty is the best policy, at least John Amaechi forgive him for saying it . can the rest of the country can forgive him too.

He gave a real, truthful, honest answer, and that alone is reason to praise the man. Everyone's on this "gay pride" crap, Tm Hardaway is a hero because he speaks his mind. David Stern was WRONG to remove him from All-Star eevnts for speaking his mind, if anything, the person who asked him that question should be held accountable for starting this whole thing. All he did was truthfully answer a question. Tim, you have my support

He had a right to say what he said, his opinion, his views.
He didn't say anything about hurting anybody who is gay or anything like that.
He was asked a question and he answered it truthfully of how he feels about gays.

My advice to all media,if you don't want a contraversial answer then don't ask a hot topic question.
