Since 2005 the only thing Kobe has done is MISSED the playoffs in 05(had Odom, Grant, Butler, & Divac), in 06 had a 81 point game(2nd place, NOT RECORD BREAKING! So big deal!) against a far from playoff team and at the time the team was in the bottom 3 teams in defense, became 06 scoring leader(07 he's far from it, he's not consistent) made the 06 playoffs and got put out in the 1st round in a game seven(after having a 3-1 lead in the series & Kobe only scores 1 point in the second half of a game 7, PATHETIC!), & in 07 just making another run for the playoffs! That's Kobe career as a 1st option(in a position as MJ, Magic, Bird). In a 1st option ROLE Kobe has 0 RINGS, 0 mvp's, & 0 playoff success! Wade being a 1st. option has 1 ring, 1 finals mvp, & is SI Sportsman of the Year(only 5 players in the history of the nba can say that: Russell, Kareem, MJ, Dunan, & Wade) No Magic, Bird, or Kobe!

They seemed to fit pretty well and because of the pump system seem to stop any heel lift. Are these as good as the Burton Ion or other boots or better? I have a Burton Vapor and ride mostly freeride in the Rockies. Are they comfortable and offer enough stiffness, support etc...?

There is a tournament coming to my area that I had considered entering my kids into as a warm up for this year. But I read the rules, and it said that "heavy contact will result in disqualification" as well as "contact to the head" was prohibited, but a controlled kick in the general area would be cause for points to be awarded. It said contact wasn't even necessary for points at all.

1) Is this becoming the norm? I have noticed more and more of the "6 inch halo" rule coming around. Our school teaches head shots and full power for the tournament competitors.

2) Are some of these changes coming from liability concerns? I know there were some political figures fighting for rule changes to keep the kids from kicking each in the head and with power.

3) Is it possible that these changes will continue to "water down" traditional martials arts? For some, tournaments are the only chance to try and test their technique. I can't stop a punch 6 inches from an angry drunk's face.
