Both are for political reasons. Cyprus is half run by Greece and half run by Turkey, so they qualify.
Israel is in the euros as no Arab country will have anything to do with them. There have been many wars over many years.

The reason why Israel is in the European Championships is like you said due too political reasons. Many of the countries that play in the Asian zone are located in the Middle East as well as Pakistan other Islamic nations that do not recognize Israel.
This caused political problem at the Athens's Olympics when the Iranian judo competitor Arash Miresmaeili was disqualified for refusing too compete against his opponent from Israel, so you can imagine what would happen in Football.
Yes Cyprus is in the EUROS in group D 1)Germany,2)Czech Republic,3)Rep.of Ireland 4)Slovakia, 5)Cyprus, 6)Wales 7)San Marino. This is due too the fact that Europe is where they're considered a part of both politically and historically. The island is divided between Greek and Turkish inhabitants.

Cyprus were given the choice wether to join Europe, Africa or Asia as its partly in all. They choose Europe.
Isreal are in it due to political reasons and probably safety.

i think because nobody else wants to play with them... especially since they don't exactly get along with any of their neighbours....
