they boo him because they do not believe he should be captain. i for one agree with them he has not lived up to his potential, and is unable to peform the roll he needs to play as captain. in my opinion wade reddon should be captain.

I never knew about this. I'll have to watch for it the next time I ever watch Ottawa. I'm a Leafs fan too and I'm surprised by all the answers that say that it is Leafs fans who boo Alfredson....geez those Leafs fans go all the way to Ottawa just to boo him - even when Ottawa is playing other teams at home? Darn them Leafs fans.

Its the great Leafs fans that go up to Ottawa to boo Alffy.
It's because Alfredsson imitated Sundin and threw his stick a few years ago. Because of that we (yes, i live in Toronto) boo him and make it a priority to make it to Ottawa to make sure he knows we don't like him.

Because last year during the playoffs, Jason Pominville of the Sabres skated around him, while the Sabres were shorthanded in overtime, to score the season-clinching goal and eliminate the Senators from the playoffs. At least that's what I think is why they boo him...

the answer is simple, ppl in ON are pretty much all stupid. The leafs think they have a shot at the cup every time they win one game and Ottawa still dosent have the heart to win the big games. If thecup is gonna come to home to Canada I think we should look west!!!
