I think that whoever has the most consice, accurate and well thought out answer should get best answer.
On the other hand, I don't think it should be about points - that leads to telling the questioner what they want to hear regardless if its true or not.
Then again, its all subjective anyway so no matter, the answers are all going to be based on personal opinion rather than an un-reachable, nebulous "truth".
Sure, I appreciate being rated 'best answer' On the other hand, I don't really care if I do or don't get it - I have better things to do with my day.

I think Best Answers are important. Somtimes you put a lot of time into your answer and like to see the person reward you with best answer.

Best answers will always be subjective because the only one that pics the best answer is the question asker... so if you have a bias... it shows up.
