Take Football for example. Teams tend to win proportionately more at home than away, yet they are ultimately playing on a rectangular patch of grass against the same opponents regardless of location.

Has any research ever been done into this?

Is it a mental thing?

I am intrigued as to the causes.

I used to play it back in primary school when height wasn't a concern. I'm now 160cm and have read stats in a magazine that the Singapore team are taller than 165cm. Not that I dream of playing at national level but I'm still conscious of my height even at recreation level. Just imagining that I'm too short to ever touch the ball again is quite a put-off :-(

I was watching some old Bob Probert fights on youtube the other day. As much as I like the fancy skating and goal scoring, there's just nothing like a good ol' NHL fight! They're few and far between now and when they do fight, it's just more of a shoving match than anything. Am I crazy or does anyone else feel the same?

Rumors are circulating out of San Diego that both Philip Rivers and LT walked into GM AJ Smith's office and demanded that he do what it takes to get Bill Belichick as the next Head Coach of the Chargers.. I think it makes perfect sense because the Chargers are a 3-4 defense and Belichick is the mastermind behind that kind of formation on defense.. What do you guys think???

The Bears could have grabbed a free agent in 2005 that could get them 2 yards and a cloud of dust cause thats all Benson can do.

Australia are up to 397 (Dan Cullen) Test caps, anyone care to guess who will be number 400? (Interesting seeing as Warne, McGrath, Martyn and Langer have all retired, so the possibility of blooding three new players in 2007 is high.)
Just for interests sake the other nations are: Bangladesh:45, England:634, India:256, New Zealand:233, Pakistan:186, South Africa:301, Sri Lanka:105, West Indies: 265, Zimbabwe: 74.

Yes.
The argument goes that he was unpatriotic for refusing to fight for his country. Fight for whose country?
American troops had no business being in Vietnam as it was an internal struggle that had nothing to do with the USA, which is why the US lost, at a cost of 50 000 lives. There was nothing to gain - gain being the only reason a war is waged.

Ali was 100% correct in refusing to participate in what was essentially a pointless conflict. What do you guys think?

Hello all I have a question, please don't laugh. I study Shaolin Kung Fu and would like to know if it's possible to ever train with the monks at the Shaolin Temple in China. Also, can you give me some good workouts to do?

We are having an office pool and are drawing pole positions for the entire season. People are worried about getting the lower pole positions. So far we only have 10 people in the pool, so no one is going to have a bad position. We are just trying to show them that the number 1 position doesn't always win. Anyone know where we can find numbers online?

My friend and playing partner always plays preferred lie after every shot ( except on the green ) This means he is always adjusting his shot and raising his ball up on the fairway and in the rough. Is this legal and correct. I have played "winter rules" before, but only when the course is in bad condition.
