Once upon a time there was:

NEW YORK GOLDEN BLADES (1973 - 1974)

The New York Raiders of the WHA changed their name to the Golden Blades in 1973. The moved midseason to become the Jersey Knights.

There also is one in romance books by Diedre Martin. She writes romance novels and the main male character is always a sports player and when she does hockey the male character always plays for the New York Blades. All of the other hockey teams the Blades play are real NHL teams. I am almost embarrassed to say this but I must confess I have read her books. I don't normally like romance novels but since it was written around hockey I decided to read one. They're not bad. She does know hockey.
