i think jones is a free agent now, so they won't have him anymore anyway, but having both gives them a balanced 1-2 running game like dallas with barber and jones or like new england with dillion and...that other guy marooney?

Because Thomas Jones is getting nothing but older. Cedric Benson is the future of this franchise whether you like it or not. If Cedric recieves the proper coaching, he can be a premier back. Just look at how successful he was in Texas.

They thought that the Thomas Jones season was a fluke, and that Benson was a more solid back for the future. Personally, I think Benson would have started right away, if he didnt hold out and miss all of training camp.

Thomas jones was not a good RB he did good because the bears drafted Benson which forced him to good so he could keep his job

R u kidding me, heck no guy. Jones replace right into a brilliant working back. Hester is basically a participant thats rapid and every1 thinks he would be solid, yet enjoying working back is greater advantageous than basically speed. I say Jones/Benson is a brilliant blend and Jones is an usual greater efficient participant than Hester

The same reason the Cheifs "wasted" their pick on Larry Johnson when Preist Holmes was tearing it up. Or the Saints with Bush. You can't always pass up on good talent. They may not need him now, but in a few years he could be a monster. Or a Kijana Carter.

obviously you have no knowledge about football. it wasnt a wasted pick. like other have stated before me teams with 2 backs generally get more done, unless you have Tomlinson of course.
