It seems these days that extreme sports like surfing and the X-games don't get any recogniton in the newspapers, except when it's televised on TV. The majority is high school, college, professional and arena football, including NASCAR.

I've also heard the term walk-off double. David Ortiz has had several walk-off home runs this season.

Honestly, I do not see how Ohio State is being ranked number one. They were only good last year because of their defense. Their offense is sub par. BTW, their entire defense is gone ! Texas can't be number one without Vince Young, they can't even be ranked without him. OU lost their quarterback and several other stars. USC lost their entire team: Leinart, White, Bush. They even lost their backup quarterbacks. The only team that did not lose that many critical players is Notre Dame. They lost only 1 excellent player: Stovall, then again they just got back their Star receiver McKnight. He was the best receiver before Samarija and the first 2 games of the 2005 season until he got hurt. NOTRE is GOING ALL THE WAY!!! THEY ARE UNSTOPPABLE!!!!!!!!

At Wrigley field above the press box and down the lines on top of the stadium they have flags to represent the best Cubs players throughout history, I knew who all of them were except the one with the initials PKW. (they are almost all just initials). Can anyone who knows their Cubs history help me out.

I have a scorecard that was purchased at old Crosley Field, and due to the fact that the original owner scored the game in pencil, I have been able to trace it to the second game of a doubleheader played vs. Philadelphia on May 26, 1963. I this particular game, Pete Rose batted and struck out 4 consecutive times. In other words, he played the entire game without ever putting the ball in play while batting. After looking up his career stats and then doing some math, I learned that Rose struck out an average just 8 times for every 100 times he batted. Rose was the ultimate contact hitter. For him to have struck out 4 times in a row in the same game almost has to be a one time thing. Does anybody know how I can check this out? I tried googling it, but had no success. Thanks.

I like college b/c of the atmosphere and the "student-athletes"(which really only applies to a few schools-Notre Dame in particular)
I just don't like the overpaid NFL players.

For me I think it was when Mark Martin thought he won the race, but caution had come out, he was already on his way to winners circle before he realized what happened! Poor guy, gotta like him, he was such a good sport about it!

I am a Bears fan, and i am not worried about the Packers or Lions this upcoming season, but more like the Vikings. No one is talkinga bout them despite they have so many good players.

They have alot of the best players. Steve Hutchingson, and Tony Richardson. And those 2 players were the reason why Larry Johnson became so good and why Shaun Alexander became the NFL MVP.

They got hte pro bowlers Darren Sharper (Who led NFC in INT.) and Koren Robinson (One of the best KR in the leauge) They also have Brad Johnson, a superbowl winner.

Also the most im worried about is their Head Coach Brad Childress. Before McNabb, and Westbrook got injured, and before T.O got suspended, Chidress brought the Eagles Offense to Rank 1!

Isn't anyone here worried about the Vikings here? (You guys only get to play them like once a year) we have to play them twice. I know we have a good D, but our offense sucks.

Doesn't anyone think Vikings are a threat?
