I HAVE A DOUBT.
IF DEANO CALLED ANYOTHER RELIGION PLAYER AS 'TERRORIST', WILL TEN FIRE HIM UP?
IM NOT SUPPORTING DEANO'S RUDE COMMENT.
AT THE SAME TIME, I WANT TO KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THAT WAS RELATED TO ANOTHER RELIGION.
I'D SAY...ADVICE RATHER TO BOTH SIDES.
DONT MIX RELIGION IN SPORTS.

C'mon deano thats not fair, be a man, I really liked your commentary but whats this?
I dont think that its right, a commentator should just be concerned commenting on the game and not on the personal issues of players.
Being a Muslim is not a certificate of being a terrorist.
I think ICC should take an action and ban all his activities including a ban on his commentary.
Ten sports did the rigth thing.

Tensports surely did the right thing by firing, so as to save any controversy. Dean jones is one of my fav commentators, but he really messed it up by this comment!
I hope he is genuinely sorry as he said he was! and not just to get a job back

Zuhair..in every post you have stated that "Aussies are just like that" or "he proved their history of racism", that in itself is a very racist remark to label all Australians as typical racists.
To answer the Question, yes it is punishment enough. He made the comment on the job and has now lost the privilege of the job. What other punishment can possibly be given. He was wrong to make the comment and action was taken. His image is now tarnished and he must live with the consequences. I think that is punishment enough.

he was right to get fired but why does hashim amla have to have a beard. 1 in 500 muslims have beards so they cannot say it is their religion. even the king of saudi king abdulla who is a devout muslim does not have a beard and i have been to saudi and pakistan and not many ppl have long beards. i think ppl like hashim amla and moh. yousuff are trying to show off their religion. dean jones is not a rasist. terrorists are trying to kill innocent ppl and when a few ppl try and copy the image of a terrorist, its difficult not to say something. there is 1 thing to have a fashionable beard like shahid afridi, and another to have 1 like mr amla.

well dean is one of the best commentators i've known. i was shocked to find out that the made such an offensive comment. but he thought it was off air and i guess he is allowed to make comments in private. it was a bit too harsh firing him for the folly. i mean when hashim can accept his appology, he can be forgiven.
but why is everyone relating it to religion and not looks??!

They did the right thing by firing him. He should be allowed to commentate anymore.
Just because he is a devout Muslim, he should be stereotyped and called names.
Total bullshit what Dean Jones said.

Shouldn't "Pro-choicers" be called "Anti-lifers"? I think you're confusing pro-life with ultra-conservative. I happen to oppose the death penalty, and while I do not support the war, I do support the troops who are risking their lives for what they believe in.
