Ghana find themselves in a difficult group, which consists of teams that all capable of winning the world cup. This group includes Italy who have won the world cup a couple of times, USA who are ranked fifth in FIFA rankings and Czech Republic who are second place holders in FIFA rankings. All three teams are capable of reaching at least the semi - finals. Ghana finds themselves in such a group.

With their last startling performnance against the Czechs, the Ghananians cannot be underestimated when they take on the USA in their final group match - which will also be the deciding match for the other teams as well.

Ghana, Togo and Tunisia are the last hope for the African continent to be represented in the last sixteen, and they all depend on their last games.

I'm new to pro soccer so be patient....It seems to me that the ref for the Ger/Ecu game (about to go to 1/2 time now) isn't calling anything, not that it is necessarily a bad thing just wondering. I saw a guy get and elbow in the face, the goalie got "ran into", and a player get tripped. Do you think maybe after the Ita/US game they are going to call a little different? Or was the stuff I saw legal and it just looked "bad" to me?

I work in a major supermarket near Miami, and Olindo Mare of the Miami Dolphins (along with several other players), were being filmed by a news crew for a media event. Some of the cashiers and other workers were all excited, and started collecting autographs. Another girl came by, and said they were filming Olindo Mare, when suddenly, he walked past us. The cashier I was assisting yelled: "It's Alonzo Mourning, he used to play for the Buckeyes; I've just got to get his autograph"! I just stood there and looked at her funny. Even though I'm not a sports fan, I know that the two athletes look nothing alike, and have nothing to do with each other. What's up with that?
