I am probably alone in prefering to watch it at home - I hate people screaming idiotic statements at the tv in a pub. I prefer to observe the game in my own contemplation, as well as not wasting my money on beer from a plastic cup.

But humans are social animals. If this is your way of socialising, then fine. I just choose to socialise in a different way.

it's all because of the atmosphere- a pub generates an atmosphere more akin to being in a football stadium than sat at home alone with a can or two. Games are far more enjoyable down the pub, plus, if England loses, everyone has each others shoulders to cry on!

He probably wants to hang out and cheer with the other people at the pub. It's more fun to watch a match with friends than a lone. I know it's cheaper to watch the match at home, but not as fun.

Hon, some guys just have to get with other guys for certain rituals. For your hubby, its futball. Be glad its not human sacrifice. Besides, do you really want to be around when he is burping, farting, drinking, cussing and tossing off like a mad bull - oh wait... Maybe he's like that all the time.

In short, its just "guy time." If he hung around and joined in while you, your mum and friends knitted, crocheted, etc, I'd be a little worried about him.

;-)

its a guy thing.. sports is a social event. how would you feel if your hubby invites his friends over and mess up your place and make noise? he's doing you a favor by going to the pub.
