This is a theological question, not an assumption that Jesus was more than a myth.

Look at Deuteronomy 13:1-5 and tell me how this does not apply to Jesus. He was trying to reform Judaism, and certainly teaching a different religious belief than what was presented in the Old testament, or there would be no "second covenant". Whether or not this is hidden with the claim that Jesus was talking about the same God, the difference is clear, and these verses say to kill such a person. No?

I Corinthians 1:10

"Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."

In the light of this passage, how do you feel about denominationalism, or what the Bible calls Sectarianism?
What can we do as brothers and sisters in Christ to unite all Christians under one Church of God?

Sure christians kill and commit crimes, but this is NOT a Biblical response. yet folks say that Jesus said to do this, but they have no scripture to back up these untruths.

The Koran promotes religous war:

Quran Surah 4: Women
Allah will bestow a vast reward on those who fight in religious wars.

War is fine but not for religous reasons. The Bible is against religous wars. Any religous war, done by christians was NON Biblical. Despite what man or any church states.

Once again, I acknowledge the Old Testament promoted killing for the Jews BEFORE the messiah came and fulfilled the Law and told us not to kill for the faith.

The quran says that its the girls CHOICE to be married, and if she is forced its a sin.
and if she wears a hijab, its her choice as well.
Did you know that the quran gives more freedom than the bible?
Girls are allowed to work, own property, and such.
Its just that the backwards countries mix culture and religon together, which forms a bad system.

I mean how can you expect Chistians to be impressed by your 'logic' when every time I look on the religion and spirituality board and atheist answers about christianity they are often full of mocking comments and sarcasm. We all know Sarcasm is frequently referred to as the "lowest form of wit". Hence where is the logic and intelligence?

Moreover how do you expect Christians to be drawn to your Atheist ideology when you insult and mock Christianity?

Why are atheists drawn to Christians like a moth is drawn to a bright light?

JESUS CHRIST Loves you all!

Forgive my always using Saint Bernadette, but she is my favorite Saint:

People go to Lourdes and pray to Saint Bernadette and do something with the spring she found- some of them are healed. One of the girls in my RCIA class: her aunt went there, was at the spring, and before her flight back to the states landed her pain stopped. She went to the doctors the next day and she was healed- I forget exactly what was wrong, but she had a very hard time walking (I can ask next class).

So if God doesn't want us to pray to saints, and they cannot help us, please explain then how they do.

I've heard the claim that DNA is impossibly complex and requires a designer. I've also heard that mutations, flaws, and birth defects are the result of sin.

Does this mean that as God engineers a new DNA strand, he purposefully includes imperfections? Or that God intends to create flawless DNA, but can't because there is sin in the world?

i was just wondering that typing something against god or any of the biblical characters using a word processor or a speech device that makes the computer talk is already blasphemy.

I'm not a muslim, but I'm disapointed by the many ignorant people here.
It seems that its very popular these days to trash talk muslims.
and yet its only a small minority are terroists.
For example, hitler killed people in the name of christianity, but no one calls every christian they see a "nazi"
my point is, we should stop critizing and lumping a whole group of people just because of some bad apples.

Should I come back to this section and try to show how we as Muslims really feel and believe, or should I just stick to my original plan of never coming back here again? I left because nobody really wants to learn or open their minds up to new ideas. I've seen some on here state false things over and over again even though they were proven wrong numerous times. It kind of makes one feel that it would do no good to show any kind of goodness or tolerance since we're all painted with the same brush anyway.

How does this make you feel?

Why do we disagree, if there is no such a thing as right and wrong? Hey, why don't we open doors with a hammer? Cook pizza with a blow dryer? Speak with our farts? What do you mean that's wrong? You told me there are no wrong answers.

if you don't know what it is, it's basically saying this:

if you don't believe in god and there is no god, you've lost nothing.
if you believe in god and there is no god, you've lost nothing.
if you believe in god and there is a god, you've just gotten a ticket to paradise.
if you don't believe in god and there is a god, then you're screwed.
Therefore, the wise person would think along the lines of "ok, since i've got nothing to lose and possibly a lot to gain by believing and possibly a TON to lose by not believing, i'll believe just to be safe.

Still, my question is this: If one follows that thought process, what happens when that person dies, assuming there is a god? wouldn't s/he see right through his motives?

If you think that there is a God but is not involved in any religion this question is for you.
Don't you think that God would send down some rules for us to follow and influence man to create a "religion" for him so people could understand Him (God).
If you disagree than why would God just sit back and not intervene with his creation. Why would he not send rules and man to speak for him? Peace

I am not at all trying to say that we should preach that we need to follow OT law. Galations powerfully disputes this.

But do you think that when we do things like tithe, keep the Sabbath holy, etc, etc, that we are especially blessed?

If you think this is true, how far down does this go? I mean clearly, there are some parts of the OT Law that we cannot and should not follow --- things that would need a theocracy instated by God and/or the sacrficial system, when we know that Jesus is the last sacrifice.

But do you think there are certain parts of the OT law that we are blessed by following? If so, what parts, and how so?
