I've heard the claim that DNA is impossibly complex and requires a designer. I've also heard that mutations, flaws, and birth defects are the result of sin.

Does this mean that as God engineers a new DNA strand, he purposefully includes imperfections? Or that God intends to create flawless DNA, but can't because there is sin in the world?

The majority of code in a DNA strand is 'noise', meaningless random garbage. Did god feel it necessary to leave all this there? Was he leaving room for firmware upgrades?

DNA was flawless at creation - that's why Adam and the early humans lived so long ;) Mutations creep in over time.
