I have met one or two open minded Christians, but that's about it. The whole tenet of the reigion is if you don't believe everything your told then your going to hell. It kind of strangles the ability to think things through logically.

Sad thing is we are all closed minded to a point Christian or not. All you have to do is visit different forums on this website to get an idea oh how close minded we can be. Until the missing link is discovered or the second coming of Christ takes place we are all drive by faith or lack there of. No, I do not dismiss alien intervention(OMG) I am going to the base root of the beginning of life whether it was here on earth, heaven or the cosmos.

WTF ?? IS THIS YOUR IDEA OF A JOKE ? I hope so if not you should be a true " christian " is constantly bombarded with dogma that makes no sense this will eventually drive all logical and open-minded people away ! That is where agnostics come from they are a fringe that was christian or wants to believe but due to the mindset of Christians and their logic and reason they are unable to function in that capacity !

Christians are more open-minded to the truth, than others I won't mention.
Christians trust God as small children trust their parents.
Some cannot comprehend the concept of believing in something you cannot see, even if it is the most logical reson for them existing.

CCC 159 - Faith and science: "Though faith is above reason, there can never be any real discrepancy between faith and reason. Since the same God who reveals mysteries and infuses faith has bestowed the light of reason on the human mind, God cannot deny himself, nor can truth ever contradict truth." "Consequently, methodical research in all branches of knowledge, provided it is carried out in a truly scientific manner and does not override moral laws, can never conflict with the faith, because the things of the world and the things of faith derive from the same God. The humble and persevering investigator of the secrets of nature is being led, as it were, by the hand of God in spite of himself, for it is God, the conserver of all things, who made them what they are."

Yes. Definitely. Even atheists can be very dogmatic in their "denial" of God...there isn't much difference between a Christian/Muslim fundamentalist and a Stalinist/Maoist atheist hell-bent on destroying God's identity

No , you've made a choice not based on logic and you've said I believe this... therefore you have closed the mind to any argument.

Hypothetically speaking, yes. It's not common, and I don't even know that anyone truly has attempted it. However, I'd say it's possible.
To some extent, I think one *could* morph the idea of logic with religion, as long as they don't attempt to alter their own beliefs, in the process. Which would of course be difficult. Just the same, I'm sure you can have a logical view of monotheism pertaining to "God."

I'm Christian, and I'm open minded.
so yeah.
But most Christians aren't open minded...
that makes the Christians who are open minded look bad.
