Me and my neighbor were talking this afternoon and a couple came down the street walking and the two were holding hands but the woman's arm was in front of the man's while the man's arm was underneath her in the submissive position !! I was really "weirded out" by this and I pointed it out to my neighbor and she said nothing was wrong with it. (She doesn't believe in the Bible though) I want to know what others think!! I was ALWAYS taught the man's arm goes in front and he is supposed to be leading the woman, you know?

He made love to mary, why won't he do that for me? Christians say he answers prayers, why not this one?

The bible is always talking about it. In today's culture, we live our daily lives as if nothing spiritual ever happens.

I think it's something like this:
If I have faith then I don't need to have things to make be believe.
But if I don't have faith I need something in which to believe.

Am I wrong in my thought and If so can you please explain in a rational way the error of my thinking.

How does someone attain the title "Christian"? Is a "Christian" someone who has faith in Jesus Christ? Is a "Christian" someone has salvation? Is a "Christian" someone who has turned away from their sins and leads a life for God? Who gets the title of "Christian"?

If there was an atheist section to Yahoo Answers, would you have me believe that you wouldn't use it to bash atheists? I'm sure there are plenty of theists that only come here to debate atheists and then turn and ask what we are doing in the R&S section, so what's the deal? Do you use Yahoo Answers with the intention of agreeing with and to be agreed with by those that share your viewpoint or do you come here to learn from a variety of different thoughts?

I can't think of one original aspect of christianity. The entire first half is taken from Judeism. The holidays are "borrowed" pagan rituals. The idea of a god coming to Earth and performing tricks to impress people had been done allot. The resurection had also been done several times before. Not only is the bible a poor work of fiction it's mostly plagerized.

If Christians follow the teachings of Jesus Christ... and JC was jewish.... why don't christians follow his religion? I mean wouldn't you want to be the same religion of the personal that you are following religiously? The last supper was a Sedar celebrating the jewish holiday of passover wasn't it?

How is being crucified like most petty criminals during roman times constitute dieing for my sin's? I don't understand how one man going against a church and dieing simply for saying blasphemy like he is the son of god mean anything but he is some crazy guy who got killed for saying some stupid stuff during a radical time? if anything it just shows how retarded religious organizations are. If they really needed to kill some one just for speaking up. The Jesus love's you and suffered for you thing just doesn't click with me?

is the only reason you believe is because it is written you will go to heaven?

"Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess, to the glory of God, that Jesus Christ IS Lord!"

This has just been quoted to me in response to another question I asked.

Why is that a requirement of God? Isn't it a bit sycophantic? It also doesn't sound much fun if that's what we've got to do all day in Heaven.

I say it is "Jesus died for your salvation" or any variation thereof. It seems like certain people can fit that answer into almost any question.

Ironically, this might be the only question where I'd welcome that as an answer.

if God does it, then doesn't that mean that you should be able to make any claim at all to a Christian, and they would not believe it is impossible or didn't happen.
1. It can never be impossible because God might have done it.
2. It must have actually happened because somebody is telling them.

I am a protestant and I cannot get into the christmas spirit. I LOVE the idea of christmas, but christmas itself ALWAYS falls short of the "idea". It is NEVER Christ centered. This year I have told my loved ones that I will not be giving out gifts. I told them that I was finding some unfortunate children (which I found) and buying gifts for them and advised them to do the same in their own communities instead of buying gifts for my family. I am just trying to find the Christ in Christmas. They were all offended. I have to yeild to my convictions. I don't want to hurt anyone but I truly want this year to be Christ centered. Does anyone else feel the same way? Christmas is sooo commercialized and I don't want it to be that way in my home this year. Is this a good idea?

why did Jesus say "My mother and brothers are those who hear God's word and put them in practice" instead of saying this is your Holy mother?

And the bible was written by men who were inspired by god. So everything in the bible is God's view. The writers couldn't have made up stuff, or the whole content of the bible is questionable.

1 Corinthians 14
34-36
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

1 Timothy 2
11-15
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing.

Not forgetting that all the deciples and apostles were men. The only important woman Jesus' mother couldn't possibly be a man anyway.
