Well, me - I was listening to Chris Botti a little while ago. His music relaxes me after I've medicated myself (nothing illegal, mind you). Before that I was listening to U2 and Brother Kane.

I have wondered the same thing. How many would answer as derisively IN PERSON? Easy to sling insults through a monitor. If the question is so exasperating, why answer??? If you want to set someone straight on what is and is not classical or correct someone on what is a song and what is a symphony, then do so POLITELY. When I first started listening to classical music several years ago, I did not know the difference between a symphony and a sonata or a concerto and an overture. I went for months with only the first movement of Beethoven's Violin Concerto. I did not know there was more to it than one movement. I simply have not had an education in classical music. One can certainly receive a harsh education in classical music from many who have had the education, but I have learned that there are a lot of educated idiots on this forum.

Whatever I'm in the mood to listen to.

It's usually either Nightwish, Maria Callas, Anna Netrebko, or Renee Fleming, though I've also been known to pop in some Offenbach, Screaming Trees, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Petra, Decyfer Down, End of Grey, Within Temptation, Leaves Eyes, Static X, or Soundgarden.

Half the time when I'm on here I just open my Multiply page, and listen to my playlist.

Music always gets me in a good mood!

In a twist of sheer irony, "Jesus is just alright" by the Doobie Brothers came up on shuffle on my iPod (which has over 3000 songs on it) just before I opened this. Before that I was listening to Celtic harp; before that, bluegrass; before that, Soundgarden; before that, Depeche Mode, before that, 20's big band music... and I think before that, Bulgarian bagpipe fusion or perhaps Punjabi electronica. My tastes are rather varied.

Music helps me think.
