A person saying he or she is the son of god would not have got anyone killed in those days at all whatsoever. This is yet another falsehood in the Christian new testament, among many others. There is not now and was not then any law that would have been infringed by saying such a thing. In fact, it was a common greeting among Jews at that time. You see how the christian new testament takes what really happened and turns it upside down and antisemetic? takes something that wasnt even against any law and has the big bad jews killing him over it.
If he had said he IS God, even, the very MOST that would have been done to someone who said he IS God (not even saying he is the son of god, which was quite common and a greeting) would be that he would be locked up in that era's equivalent of a loony bin, and the rabbis and doctors would try to determine what had happened to his mind and help him fix it.
Unreal, some of the deliberate lies about what really was, that are found in the new testament.
It's like the quote from Jesus saying not to throw pearls before swine - this was referring to non-Jews as swine, if you read it. The ACTUAL Messiah would NEVER say something like that, never. If he had the sort of character and personality to be able to say something like that, in no way would he ever qualify for the position of Messiah in the first place.
Or, all those idiotic teachings about the Pharissees being corrupted. They were not. The Pharisees were the everyday working man's representatives. They were down to earth, they were about as far from corrupted as it gets, they were honest, and they were Torah true scholars and humanitarians. They were the ones who made sure that orphans were fed, and widows were cared for, etc.
It was the Sadducees who were corrupted. Not the Pharisees. The Sadducees were right in the pockets of the Romans, even betraying their fellow Jews for gold to the Romans. They were the rich man's representatives and couldn't have cared less about anything but money and power.
And that's the REAL history of our people as far as that goes, and that's just the tip of the iceberg as far as falsehoods in the christian new testament. So please. Take whatever you read in the christian new testament about Judaism or Jews, or anything about us back in those days, and especially anything they have twisted the meanings and translations of from our Torah, with a HUGE grain of salt, because it's falsehood and in most meant to be antisemetic in order to turn the Church's followers against the Jews - mainly so that the Church's followers would not try to go and learn from the Jews, since just about everything the Church teaches they incorporated from ancient paganism rather than Judaism or the Torah. This is also the reason that the Church teaches that the Jews are blind. Nice and handy there, eh? And not true whatsoever. But Christians eat this crap hook line and sinker and never bother to even investigate any of it, usually.

Crucifixion was not the typical punishment of "most petty criminals" during roman times.
Crucifixion was the punishment primarily handed out for treason against Rome.
Now about Jesus. He had no sin, so when He died being totally innocent, that enabled a legal transaction in heaven to occur which transfered the sin from the rest of us to Jesus.
And since Jesus is also God, each drop of His blood was infinately valuable and could cleanse the sin from you and me.
And by the way, Jesus didn't say anything stupid.
Every educated person agrees He was the best moral teacher who ever lived.
That includes the educated non Christians.
I believe because its objectively true and it would be true even if heaven wasn't there.

i am not fooled by the Romans who resurrected Jesus in the time of Constanatine as a being to be worshipped. Early Romans had all but stamped out Jehovah and Jesus worship except for a few, then Consantine ressurrected Jesus worship and allowed in into the empire. Thats the true ressurection of Jesus. Meaning ressurecting the lies told by Jews.
and there is no nation of heaven or hell on any map i know of. So i can never really go there.
and Jesus is incapable of any thoughts cause He's in the grave, despite what the church tells you. Avoid the church like the plague. because it's a choke point, where real life plagues can spread from. If you want a good fictional story go to your childs christmas concert or something, its probably more entertaining then the drivel coming out of the Romans empire. By the way ancient romans used human urine as mouthwash. So when their priest are preaching, perhaps its the Pee talking? meaning when they talk its actually comes out as something the body didn't need.
ow that gladius in the back hurt, but followers of the times new roman font LORD and His GODDESS, just ressurected the SON who came from within both WORDS, LORD & GODDESS, and He still lives, just like Jesus. And if you beleive that i have some mountain strongholds for sale in saskatchewan.

Whether or not you believe it or not , doesn't alter the fact that Jesus suffered untold agonies on the cross so all of us, including you, can avoid the torture and punishment that all of us deserve in hell for eternity. And Jesus is anything but crazy ! He is very much alive, in heaven, awaiting the day when He will return to earth to take His followers with Him to heaven. We could never go to heaven, had it not been for Him dying on the cross.
The blood of an innocent Lamb of God's choosing had to be shed so we could have salvation. And some day, you and everyone else will kneel before God and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. So, I would say, why not accept Him into your heart now while you still have time. The Bible says " today is the day of your salvation ".

It has been said before, either Jesus was telling the truth about who He was or He was a lunatik. Too much has been proven true to label him a lunatik. So, I believe what He says.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever should believe in Him, would not perish but have everlasting life.
the wages of sin is death. We have all sinned. Do you really want to pay the penalty yourself? The penalty for this is the Lake of Fire.
I accepted the fact that that is what Christ wants to do for us and He did, now it is up to each individual to accept it or reject it, the choice is yours.
By one man, sin entered the world, so by one man the penalty can be paid.
You should really study this out before you make such comments.
Jesus is real, the devil is real, I have experienced both.

it was more than just being crucified. He was seperated from God the Father even though he had done NOTHING wrong, not a thing. its something He chose to do for us even though He didn't deserve it. it wasn't blasphemy for Him to say He was the Son of God because He is. He CHOSE to die. no one killed Him. He GAVE His life. He could just as easily stayed quite alive no matter what anyone did to Him.
and no, having it written that I will go to heaven is not the only reason I believe. I believe because He has done many things in my life and I have felt his presence strongly. He has made Himself known as real in my life and He will do the same for you if you ask Him to.

I am a Christian and I get tired of Christians telling everybody that Jesus loves them. I don't know if Jesus loves them, God does not want everybody in the first place! The word Kosmos found in John 3:16 doesn't have a singular meaning. And to go along with Romans 9 and John 6, Jesus said the same thing I am saying, that God doesn't want everybody.
So you are right when you say Jesus died like a lot of other people. But God put Him through it, in fact, he put himself through it. It's not for everyone to understand though. God said clearly that the world had worldly knowledge, and the knowledge that Christians are supposed to have is beyond worldly knowledge, it's spiritual knowledge gained by God's Spirit.
Yet you and I have to wince every time undiscerning Christians spout with , "God loves you!" When they typically have no idea.

With due respect, I recommend that if you want to put a question, to make it simple and concise. The way you put it makes it seem that you either asked too many questions, or none! Insulting a religion with words like "crazy guy" does not help, either.
I am a Muslim, but I am for a constructive discussion, not just attacks.
Peace/salaam.

You know so little. They crucified Christ and He did no wrong.
He healed the sick, the lame, the tormented and raised the dead. He fed the hungry 5000 at a time. The temple folks were afraid and jealous of Him and so was the Roman authority. Pilot's wife asked Pilot to let Him go free and not to touch Christ because she was made afraid by a dream. Pilot tried to free Jesus but the crowd of Temple folks would not let him. The church (temple folks) were corrupt. We have many corrupt churches today and they are no different than when Christ walked the earth. The temple folks should have known every word spoken by Moses and the Prophets, but they did not even read their Bible - just like most religious folks today.
The reason I believe is because I know what God said in His Word, the Holy Bible. I believe and faith is taking God at His word. I'm 62 years old and I have seen God in my life working for my benefit time and time again. I've heard His voice and I will never forget His words. The Lord makes Himself known to those He loves. I know He loves me. I know He died for me. I know that heaven is my home.
Jeremiah 33:3 says, "Call upon Me and I will answer thee and show you great and mighty things." At 3:15 one morning I heard a voice say, "Get up and see the wonders of God." I got up and went outside and saw a huge, bright light, like a large moon at the top of the hill. It stayed for just awhile and vanished. God often strengthened my faith for me because He loves me. I often asked for my faith to be strengthened, but now I see God in my life almost every day. He knows I like easy parking spots and He opens them up for me. He gives me a comforting peace that I cannot explain. I fear nothing. I love everyone. He can speed up time for me. A 3 hour drive can take 30 minutes. Good advice - if you feel frustrated because things are going badly - start praising Him. Just praise His Holy Name, Jesus. You will never regret praising His Holy Name, Jesus.
Have a blessed evening.

no,i believe because i know He is real, when Jesus was crucified He had to ascend to the Father before the Holy Spirit could return and that is exactly what happened//when the Holy Spirit is inside your heart you are a changed person, you no longer want to sin and want to follow Him..for me it is a wonderful thought being with Him in heaven but that is not the reason i follow Him//i follow Him because i love Him as He first loved me
