The bible is always talking about it. In today's culture, we live our daily lives as if nothing spiritual ever happens.

People have been conditioned to think of spirits as ghosts. And the doctrine of the trinity pre-supposes the Holy Spirit to be a person.

However, if (he) is poured out on top of us, that would be a fearful thing, like a prelude to being possessed.

Of course, the Holy Spirit is not a person. It is the power and presence of the Father. It can be just as much a part of you as your ability to read this answer.

The bible said the holy spirit was poured out on all flesh.
The biggest word in the bible is ALL when spoken by God.
So even you have his voice telling you what is right and wrong.
That is why Jesus said these generations would receive greater judgment. They know inside themselves it is wrong but do it anyway. Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, the sin that is unforgivable at the judgment.

People are afraid of what they don't understand for one thing. Also, people get afraid when the Holy Ghost reveals things to them or (maybe) others about themselves. It brings issues to the "forefront" so to speak. People realize they should really deal w/ it then. But the Holy Ghost is there to comfort, guide, etc. Its to bring us joy and peace also. People should embrace it, not run!

I am not afraid of the Holy Spirit. I have Him in my heart all the time. Why are you afraid of the Holy Spirit?

And why don't capitalize His name?

Does anything spiritual ever happen? I must have missed the angelic choirs and people coming back from the dead.
