I had a really bad week.
On Monday, I got kicked out of hebrew school. It was a long time coming. My Rabbi, teacher, and principal all ganged up on me and told me (and some friends) to never come back. I thought this was a little harsh.
On tuesday, I found out i was failing Spanish Class.
On wendsay, I severly pissed off my spanish teacher. I pissed him off enough to give me afterschool detention. I told my father to pick me up at the local coffee house, because I didn't want to tell him. He says I lied.
On thursday, I failed to report to detetion because I couldnt find my teacher. I walked around the school for like 20 minutes, and couldnt find him. Finnally, I saw my math teacher, and he told me to just go home, so I did.
On friday, my parents, my divorced parents who hate eachother, and dread the very thought of being in the same room, three-way call me, and tag-team yell at me.
On top of all this, I think im having a Jewish identity crisis. Am I really a bad kid or Jew?

would you ever marry someone not related to you?

When you think about life begins at conception:
1.There is no chance that the embryo is going to be anything but human meaning that it is human life from day one.
2. If not at conception; definetally by five months that baby is human it has arms, legs everything that would make that baby human is there.
So when you think about abortion(or at least after five-months) is murder. When abortion is allowed it takes away a child's chance at life;they could be killing the next great scientist, doctor or writer. The child never has a chance. And what about adoption? think of all the parents who cannot concieve and how they would give anything for a baby. Yet people are allowed to through that life away! How wrong is that? What are your thoughts? Defientally as a catholic I find it extremly wrong, so what are your views and does your relgion(or lack of it) effect it?

This is a very dumb question.
There are envelopes to put the offering in. Is that only for checks? Are you supposed to use it? Do you fill it out? What if its only a couple dollars?

thanks. sorry, I am just making sure. :D

2 Corinthians 3: 17 is a most interesting verse in the bible.

And the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom.

Share what the Lord is showing you about this verse brothers and sisters.
Who do we really have in us?
THe Lord or the SPirit.

I just want to throw in this verse too from John 14:23

This is in reference to the Lord speaking of the Comforter, the Holy Spirit being sent. Yet He says this in vs 23

" Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word and My Father will love him and WE will come to him and make an abode with him.

Man's spirit is God's habitation... His dwelling place has everything to do with man's spirit.
Eph 2:22 shows us this
In whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in spirit.

So tell me.. Who exactly is IN Us? We see that the Lord is the Spirit but also that the Father and the Son make an abode with us. the "WE " in that verse is striking.
Share plz

Check out the answers to my last 3 questions and you'll see how Christians seem to disregard the Old Testament. Since when are they allowed to pick and choose?

Seriously...why are they always asking believers if since they believe in God...do they also believe in unicorns.

Well...why would it be so hard to believe in unicorns? It is a horse with a horn. We know there are horses and we know there are a animals with horns. Why is it so unbelievable to think unicorns may have existed in the past?

I don't know where I stand on the subject myself...not something I really care to put much thought into. I just find it amusing that that ahteists use unicorns...there are many other creatures to pick from that are less believable than unicorns...like a gryphon...or a sphinx.

Is it a secret code or something?

I saw a similar question, but about the Tanners asked earlier. What do you think of Ed Decker's work?

1. Purely anti-Mormon
2. Critical of Mormonism but not anti
3. Some parts anti and other parts critical but not anti
4. Completely stupid and not worth listening to

I borrowed parts of this question from Vitriol. I hope he doesn't mind.

to the loser who keeps reporting my questions and answers (i'm pretty sure it's just one person), don't you realize every time you report one of my questions, i have to answer five questions to make up the points that i lost from your report. that means, i'm five times as likely to reach some christian who is on the verge of not believing. so, if you had just relaxed and not reported me to begin with, i wouldn't feel the need to answer so many questions. but because you are reporting, i have to answer more questions. in a way you're actually helping spread atheism. and now i've lost five points asking this because of you, and don't you know i gotta get them points back somehow? way to go, einstein...

1 Corinthians 3:9
For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's cultivated land, God's building.

What does it mean that we are God's cultivated land.
What does it mean that we are God's building.

Please share within the context of this chapter and even this book of the bible.
Use as many references to support your sharing:)

Jeremiah 10: 2-4: Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen ... For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

I alway hear about "I almost died and I called to God and he saved me"
Yeah well I had a near death and he didn't say a damn thing to me. This confirmed my belief that Christianity just wasn't for me. So why is it when someone tries to "prove" the whole there are no atheist in foxholes theory they use thier near death as proof? Not everyone "finds god" near death. Plently of us realize he's just not there at worst and not listening at best.

do you know how terrible is to die in fear and pain ?
do you know that you may get paralyzed gradually and loose your ability ?

can you protect your self of an earthquake destroying your house in the middle of the nigh while your having sweet dreems ?

Do you think you arrived at your position because you are a free-thinker who rationally weighed the evidence, and then freely chose atheism over theism?
I can accept that, even if I don't agree with you.

BUT...you also believe that your thinking and actions are nothing more than the FIXED reactions of the atoms in your brain that are governed by the Laws of Chemistry and Physics.

Where is the "logic and reason" in this stance?

If he's just going to shun then and be discriminatory to them within the Bible?

It's like having black hair - you're born with it and even if you dye it another colour, the original hair colour grows through eventually...

Would God also hate people who couldn't change an aspect of their individuality?

Homosexuality is not a choice.

It's largely due to genetics and/or environmental factors such as childhood experiences (though this has been observed, environmental factors cannot be a proven cause).

So why would God create something he would hate (the act, anyway)?

I can assume only ONE of three things from this, either:

- God is arrogant, tyrancial and discriminatory
- The Bible is not the true words of God
- God does not exist and is just made up

And don't tell me the act is a choice either. From what I've heard they are just like ourselves - and I think it's really disrespectful to think they have to endure celibacy when all the rest of us have freedom and choice.

There was someone here quoting from a part in the Old Testament where it said it was okay to sell your daughter into slavery.

Hello?

That was a different time. When Jesus came, He changed everything.

Yes, it USED to be okay to do that, but God had different rules because you cannot compare this day to the past. Homosexuals also had to be killed according to God's law, but this was done in unpainful way. Gays would be given alcohol (ONLY gays who were Jewish AND were caught in the act) and once they were numb, they would be pushed off a cliff. This hardly ever happened and the law was clear about the consequences, so there was no excuse.

When Jesus came, he changed the laws of the Old Testament, so the death penalty for gays and working on the sabbath, etc. were no longer necessary.

God could not change the laws BEFORE that period because Jesus hadn't come yet.

Christians were taught not to kill, but now the head of the church is happy that someone else took to killing for them. Wow, how hypocritical. What do you think? Would the killings at Christian centers not be part of "God's plan", and how dare anyone get in the way of that. I am not trying to take away from the murders that happened, but just very hypocritical of those Christians.

What I'm asking here is couldn't athesim be considered a philosphy? Maybe it could be a relegion but its not really since it doesn't support worshiping anything...so do you say its a philsopy? I mean they live their everyday life by it, base a lot of what they view the world as on it. So is it a philosphy or could it be a relgion?
