I am currently 9 weeks and feel the need to get an abortion, too weak, too poor, etc to go through with this right now. I do however believe in karma in some ways as Ive experienced it myself, and I am just wondering do you think an outside force will punish me for getting an abortion? Of the people I know who have had an abortion, some have seem to bad things coming to them others dont. Do you believe if I get an abortion it will bring me bad karma? Just for the record this has not been an easy decision for me; if women mourn after having an abortion, then Ive started my mourning before.

I am going through some really rough times. I made some mistakes and have been labeled a whore. It hurts me because I never have done more than makeout with anyone. I really need prayers to give me the strenghth to move on and with God's help show people that that is not me. I would appreciate any prayers during this emotionally rough time for me. I also am trying to just put all my faith in God and need help to sucessfully do this.

Revelation 18:4: "Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues."

Revelation 18:21: ""A strong angel lifted up a stone like a great millstone and hurled it into the sea: 'Thus with a swift pitch will Babylon the great city will be hurled sown, and she will never be found again.'"

Luke 21:36: "Keep awake, then, all the time making supplication that you may succeed in escaping all these things that are destined to occur, and in standing before the Son of man."

What evidence points to the identity of Babylon the Great, referred to in Revelation?

Christians argue amongst ourselves as to what denomination is right. Our church is better than theirs, etc., mentality. Division on scripture. Division on what is the truth. Why did God create a people to follow him, yet have so much confusion on the truth??

Matthew 28:19:
Jesus said, "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit."

Mark 16:15-16:
He said to them, "Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Acts 2:38
Peter (said) to them, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit.

***** According to the bible, this is what it is to baptize. Now tell me, what baby knows what to believe and what on earth would a baby have to repent even if it could understand?

It has been my opinion for a long time that Christians should accept what other people say about their faith at face value, and leave God to do the judging of their hearts. Recently my best friend and I were discussing a certain well known televangelist, and she said she didn't think he was saved. I told her that I didn't think we had a right to judge that, plus how can we possibly know the man's heart and motives?

What do you think? I know that scripture says 'by their fruits you shall know them'. Do you think that means we can judge a person by his fruit and say whether or not he is a Christian? (or 'real Christian' if you prefer?) or no?

What support can you give for or against?

Thanks!

I believe that there is a chance that there is a God or gods and I also believe there a chance there is no God or gods..... I am open to anything as long as they prove it to me with scientific facts and so far every religion or "scientific" theory is based on FAITH or theories therefore I do not believe on any religions or "scientific" theories..... I am not saying Jesus did not exist or that the bible is fake or that Christianity is right or wrong and the same with other non christian religions or "scientific" theories They all might be right they all might be wrong!! ...What religion or denomination does that make me?

came across this in a blog and it reminded me of 40,000 monkey's randomly typing. Theory is one of them will eventually type out one of Shakespears plays, if their lifespan were long enough.

The amino acid numbers game: Ok…so just to give you a small dose of the statistics involved in making this thing happen. I’m going to lay out for you the probability of constructing a single functioning amino acid by random chance. Amino acids are CRITICAL for life, they make up proteins. Proteins are what carry out different functions within our bodies. Specific proteins do specific things. Anyways, take the smallest protein, it consist of 100 amino acids (there are 20 different amino acids in all). In order to create it, 100 amino acids have to be placed in an EXACT order, in order for the protein to function properly. So as those of you who have taken stats know, the odds of creating that one protein (and there are thousands….some quite longer than 100 amino acids long) is (1/20)^100 = 10e13

i am coming to find that most christians believe that they are celibrating pagan holidays.. but just dont care.. and they call them christian holidays anyways. i understand the idea of being compfortable and wanting to spend time with your family and friends and things like that.. but... why celibrate the holiday if you dont believe in it? why not just get together with your family on a different day and trade presents for fun or something like that?

Not looking to slam anyone here. Just feeling Agno-curious, I guess.

By "not being sure" (if that's correct?), doesn't that mean you don't have faith?

I call myself an atheist because I don't believe (i.e. have faith in) god. That's all there is to it, the long and short of it (the *ahem* Alpha and Omega, if you will). I think most atheists on this forum would agree with that definition?

IF someone could prove god existed, or if I had some kind of personal ephinany that convinced me I could "feel" god's presence, then I would believe in god. How is that different than Agnosticism?
