Christians saying that there's "no sex in Heaven" is like adding insult to injury. It's bad enough they think it's bad to do it alive unless you're married, and what if someone abides by that bad advice, this poor guy who never got married, died a 37 year old vigin, and can't have sex in Heaven?

That 37 year old guy SHOULD'VE had sex when he was alive and had the chance!!!!!! Now he'll have never had the chance to know what it was like for all ETERNITY now!!!!

I have heard many people call baptism an outward sign of an inward grace. Romans 6:3-13 gives a very detailed picture of how baptism unites is in Jesus' death. That doesn't sound very external does it?

Isn't a Law, by definition, something that is constant? Just by obeying a law, that doesn't make it go away does it?

(This question is in response to the oft repeated claim that Christians need not obey the Law of Moses because Jesus somehow fulfilled it.)

I go through all the motions on Sunday morning: repetitious prayers, homily, eucharist, rehearsed song. What am I missing from my spiritual life? Why do I still feel empty after Sunday? What can I do to jump start my spiritual life?

They divide people more than they do any sort of good anymore.
And church leaders just line their own pockets (not that that's any new practice)

Where's the benfit that comes from organized religion today?

President Bush is trying to eliminate the Constitution, which clearly states America was founded to be a Christian Nation. Civil rights are just the beginning! Will you stand up to that Godless Heathen? He professes his belief in God, but he's really a pawn of Satan trying to trick you! Will you be fooled into giving up your birthright?

I would say it's looking at oneself through objective eyes and others' eyes respectively.

If "God is watching", then is the awareness of this both mindfulness and self-consciousness at the same time? Is self-consciousness then a good thing?

All thoughts welcome!

Like, I have always wondered why I need to go to a priest for confession when I can go to Jesus alone to receive forgiveness? Is there a true need for a mediator like a priest to hold my hand in the act of repentance? Why do I need to eat a piece of bread and drink a cup of wine when the risen spirit of Jesus and God's word is the bread of life and living waters that we must nourish ourselves daily? Is not spiritual bread of scripture and the blood of Jesus applied in the act of repentance sufficient for spiritual regeneration? I have doubts about my membership in Catholicism because I cannot find the answers deep enough to quench my hunger for God. Anyone else having these thoughts?

Would your god prefer you to follow and worship him/her/it because you have looked at the teachings of said god and reasoned your way to belief, or would your god prefer that you follow his/her/it's teaching because of godly threats of punishment if you don't? In other words, what does your god prefer, reasoned belief or fearful worship?
