not a south park fan - but some of them are sort of funny. I think the problem is that they don't present things totally truthfully as they are always going for the laugh, and it contributes to a lot of misunderstanding.

I've never managed to be offended by South Park, and I'm Jewish. Maybe that says more about me than the show, though.

Of the three episodes you mentioned, the Mormon episode actually treated the religion fairly, the Mohammad episode dealt more with censorship than the religion, and Scientology isn't a religion at all, just a cult, so they deserve whatever abuse can be heaped upon them. But they've certainly not shied away from insulting any manner of belief. How can you not love a show that elevates a rabbit to Pope, has Jesus host a public-access cable talk show, and portrays god as some sort of bizarre creature?

Personally I think they are funny too. Also the one about the Mormons is pretty true. This is America which entitles us to FREE SPEECH so they are well within their rights. The one on Muslims is kind of dumb but that's because it doesn't really speak about Islam, just about not showing His image.

I just watched a documentary on Islam and they didn't saw His image there either. I don't understand why they don't but it's their thing.

I like South Park, they make fun of everything just like Carlos Mencia. If it upsets you then don't watch. This is America so you have the freedom NOT TO WATCH if you so choose. If South Park bothers you, exercise that right. You don't have a right to tell others they can't enjoy their right to watch or to tell the people who make South Park to stop making it. This is taking their right away. Check out Your Constitution.

Like I've always said, "If you don't like it, don't look."

Also, I'm a Pagan, you should hear these people who don't like South Park and its making fun of religion make fun of my religion. I get called a heathen, a non-believer and a devil worshiper. None of these are true but I don't care if they say it. I just tell them...

A heather is an unconverted individual of a people that do not acknowledge the God of the Bible; a person who is neither a Jew, Christian, nor Muslim.

I acknowledge that the god of the bible is real. He's just not my god. If this still makes me a heathen so be it. I am converted to Paganism.

Next, I believe in many Gods and Goddesses therefore I'm not a non-believer. I'm a ploy-believer.

Lastly I don't believe in the Devil or Satan, how can't I worship something I don't believe in?

So if South Park upsets you don't watch it. Personally I can't wait till they do an episode on Witches/Pagans/Wiccans. I'll record it to watch over and over again.

Also like the question author said. (by the way i know i spelled a few things wrong...but don't comment about that and waste space...i want to know what you think about the question?) Answer the question, don't pick on the spelling. If you have to pick on the spelling that just means you don't have a real opinion you just like to hear or see yourself talk. This is Yahoo Answers not Yahoo Proof Reading or Yahoo Let's Pick on People who can't spell or type.

My funniest episode of South Park is Cartoon Wars.

I thought the one where Jesus and Satan were boxing was very thought provolking. Of course everyone bet on Satan because Satan was big and strong and Jesus was, well, scrawny. BUT then Satan cheated (of course) and Jesus won because Satan threw the fight because he had bet on Jesus when everyone else was betting on Satan.

Yes, it's always "offensive," but it can also be very thought provolking. It takes all of the things that we feel strongly about and pushes it to the point of idiocity. They are able to put "moral" lessons in despite the fact that the language is profane and there is no effort made to not offend.

Phrog, if people are getting the mass of their information from South Park, we have much to fear! ;-) Their primary function is the laugh, not the disemination of accurate information. And while I'm on the subject, I love Jon Stewart, too, but it's not a news show!

It's my all time favorite TV show. Somehow their material never seems to get old or stale. My favorite religion-bashing episode was the two parter: Do The Handicapped Go To Hell? and ...Probably. Cartman talking like a televangelist and pretending to heal people makes me laugh no matter how many times I watch it.

I believe there are no sacred cows when it comes to humor. I'm an atheist, and I respect the work of Richard Dawkins, but I thought the Dawkins episode was funny.

South Park is hilarious. The show perfectly shows what human nature really is. Human beings just LOVE to judge others regardless of race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, etc... :)
