That would show that we're still moving forward.

That's a good thing.

You'd think so, wouldn't you...but no, these wacky non-atheists can't stand that possibility that their doctrine is based on complete nonsense. They're obsessed with looking backwards to some idealistic time they perceived back in the good old days, even though that time never really existed, but things that never really existed never stopped non-atheists from believing in absurd concepts, now did they....

When I was in elementary and junior high school, I was taught evolution as fact. In a text book that I had, there was a series of pictures depicting man's progression from an ape-like creature about 2 ft tall and culminating with a 6ft tall modern (1960's) man. I was given the impression that each of these steps was very well documented and proved. As it turns out, one of the steps was entirely based upon some teeth and part of a lower jaw bone that was found! Years later, that same picture still appeared as if that little bit of remains really could tell us that much about the creature whose teeth they were. That picture continued to be used even after it was found that the teeth and jawbone were that of a pig........ I'm a fundie, and I love math and science - when used honestly. If we evolved, then so be it - it's neither a good thing or a bad thing, but I really hate being lied to growing up. Lying to children is a bad thing.

Usually the people who consider it bad are religious people and they greatly dislike the idea of evolution. With Darwin the natural process in the behavior of the changing of forms of organisms became something that we could now study, analyze and observe. With this, man no longer is a divine creation, or god's sacred culmination, man no longer is the center of the universe but a mere speck in the universe. And i think this why some people greatly dislike the idea that we came from something inferior.

er...we are not moving forward. What are humans suppose to evolve into next? Why don't we see humans in the process of evolving? This takes way too much faith for to me believe.

whats sad is how its easier for them to believe that man came from dirt and woman came from the rib of man instead of believe in a more logical explanation like evolving from another life form

Read "Darwin's Dangerous Idea" by Dan Dennett. A great book with the answer to your question :-)

Many people don't want to move forward, because they are afraid of change. So, they cling to their fairy tale cults and close their eyes, ears, and minds as the world progresses without them.

There are a few among us that would benefit greatly to regress back into something lesser than what we are now!

I don't think of it as bad, I just think of it as impossible and untrue. Call me small minded, but I came to that conclusion BEFORE I was a Christian and WHILE I was taking biology classes at the university level.
