Sin has a perspective about it, what is sin to one person -- might be a wonderful thing to another. One person's sinner might be another persons saint. The important thing is that we all try and become better people, even if we start from different places and see things in different ways.

Shades of gray. Think about Thou shalt not kill.

1. Murder
2. Revenge
3. Punishment
4. Self defense
5. Accident

Are all equal? Of course not.

Shades of grey because some sins are worse than others. Obviously murder would be closer to black than stealing a chocolate bar from a shop, although both are technically illegal. x

It is the morals that are symbols, however, the Bible is the word of God, so the existence of God is inevitable if you choose to believe in the Bible. The idea that He is just a metaphor could be explored through thorough discussion, however there will always be a reason to believe in God and a reason not to. Many people have considered your idea, and yes, you aren't meant to take the Bible too literally, you are right (if there is a right and wrong) example: the seven days of creation are not actually days, but each day is actually said to be years. You aren't supposed to necessarily believe ib each story, but to use to Bible for guidance and follow the morals taught. Hope this helped!

Sin is sin, but of course, there are some sins worse than others.
And to Pope, God gave us the ability to "judge others" and to distinguish between right and wrong. We should not be so "PC" and use that God-given ability more.

I see it as black and white. The act is the same, whether it's murder or lying, and one must ask for forgiveness in both circumstances. Obviously, the consequences will differ.
