I keep seeing Christians talking about how people want them to stop saying Merry Christmas. I have never in my life heard anyone say that. Go ahead and say Merry Christmas! Just don't be surprised or insulted if someone says "Happy Yule" or "Happy Kwanza" back. What's the big deal?

do Christians believe that gay men and women have a mental disorder that can be cured if they work with the grace of God and become normal. i was taught that as a Christian everyone has their own weaknesses (lusting for sexual desires, pride in themselves, greed, getting angry at people easily, etc.) and that we can cure our weaknesses through prayer, sacrafice, and almsgiving. do you all believe that those who lust after the same sex is a weakness as well, which can be cured through the grace of God?

The mainstream Religions seem to want to lump us ALL together as ONE single Religion. WE know that is not so but we have been able to accept our differences and come together for comfort and supprt against those who would destroy us.. HOW does our path differ from their commonly help perception of us and how do YOU view the different traditions and Religions that fall under the general heading of "Paganism"? What's the difference between Witchcraft, Wicca, Paganism, Heathenism, Druidry, Satanism, and other Pagan beliefs? Please use YOUR thoughts and concepts and not those of your Tradition. As Pagans, we ALL have our OWN concepts that we typically do not share with even the coven/Grove/Blot/whatever we belong to. Solitaries, this is YOUR chance to shine here too because YOU tend to not follow ANY tradition and use stuff from wherever you find it as long as it works for you.

I have heard this idiocy from many protestants all my life. They even teach it in school. But the truth of the matter is that the Roman Catholic Church never taught in any official universal Church capacity that you can buy your way to heaven. There have been abuses but it was never, ever the official teachings. Show me an official document, place, name, pope, etc, who ever said that you can buy your way to heaven?

I think that, even with bias, the system works well enough to ensure that anyone with good research will get published and have an influence. Creationism simply isn’t real science. That's why you don't see any real scientific articles that support creationism.

The bible fully states that this will happen in the end time, not when we get to heaven. Everything from the foundation of the world is stored in our superconscious and the akashic records, since we were in Him before the would was, how will this be translated to the contiousness. how will this be revealed, that's a lot of knowledge and how can we contain this?

Why do we say that God requires us to have faith and then turn around and try to make rational and logical arguments ?

We tell atheists that God can (almost) be proven by looking at creation and then remind each other that our real proof is our walk with God.

Of course the answer is no. And since there is not a single word in your "Holy Bible" (in any of it's rewritten forms) about "god" creating any more human beings after the "great flood", then I guess the answer is that dreaded word (like a mirror to a vampire)..... evolution. Or will you make stuff up out of thin air as an answer to this problem? (This ought to be fun)

just got this response to an actual serious question.

seriously, everyone once in a while, i check out people's points to see what level they're at. i've been on this thing for like a year, and i think i spend too much time on it at times. i have just over 2300 hundred points. so when i see people who have well over 30000 points, i start doing the math in my head. i don't think yahoo answers has been around for 10 years. i could be wrong. the majority of these people are christians too. and these are the same people who believe god has a plan for all of us. i'm wondering then, "is this god's plan for you?" to sit on an online forum all day and argue with atheist? shouldn't you get out and meet some people. before i get hounded with a million christians responses. i'm not talking to all of you, just the folks who have these ridiculously high ratings.

Were doing this thing at my Christian church tomorrow (which Im forced to go to -_-, although I'm an atheist. Anywho we put questions on a piece of paper, the pastor pull it out and answers them.

What questions should I put on there?

Some of the questions I have are...

1. How can you be sure when you 'hear' God tell you to do something, not your imagination?

2. Isn't the concept of God logically and scientifiaclly impossible?

3. Give me proof God exists, and dont say the bible.

I am not saying only certain people can be here because that's not true I'm just wondering why so many atheist are on I mean Religion and spirituality is the last place logic would tell you to go to find an atheist.
Is it you want others to be atheist or deep down you know that complete randomness can not account for complex life

by the way before you go oh I get it this is just another brain washed christians like most Atheist it pisses me off (alot at school) when stupid people who think and claim to be christians tell me and one of my best friends(an atheist to which by the way we both read the bible for it's teaching and philosophy) that we dont know what we are talking about and they do because they pretend to listen to a preacher

p.s. If you were confused at where I stand on religion I am a christian although I dont stand on any section like Babtist or any thing like that I do read the Bible for my own interpatations and there are things I choose not to believe or follow
