What do you all think about the woman who got "gang" raped? Do you think it is right that she got punished too, or is it a law that she has to be with a male family member at all times?

It has not been said in the Holy Quran(Book of Muslims) that a woman should always be in the presence of a man...This is a law that has been created by Muslims themselves....She had no right to get "punished" in thaat way....Nobody deserves rape....And according to is Islamic sense a person who rapes someone else has to be STONED TO DEATH. If he rapes, then he has no right to live...He has turned completely bad...It has been said in the Holy Qura'n. In Islam, women are allowed freedom.... But Saudi Arabia has somehow given a new face to islam which is not at all what it actually is.

In some Islamic countries, the law requires a male family escort for a woman in Public.
While I don't agree with that law, she did break the law of the land. However, the punishment she will receive goes contrary to the Quran.

It's another case of Islamic nonsense, the same as the case of Dubai wanting to prosecute the 15-year old French boy, who was gang raped by three brave Muslim studs, for "homosexual" acts.

Gang rape is against the law. Perhaps so many muslims blame her since she was the primary person involved. After all, if she had not been there, nothing would have happened. That does seem to be the thinking of justice in islamic countries, in my experience.

It's very unjust at the least. Muslim's are engaged in a public relations campaign to convince the world they're a peace loving religion. Incidents like the one you mentioned and the teddy bear one gives the world a glimpse into the real Islamic world.

As disgusting, primitive and uncivilized as this may sound, it appears that women must be covered from head to toe lest one square inch of human flesh is exposed. Exposed skin, in the slightest, is enough to "instigate" and "cause" (muslim's here on R&S quotes) the woman to get raped. Poor guys, as "civilized" as they are...have NO self control or morals.

Recent example: young girl gets raped by several "men"...girl is sentenced to 200 lashes and 6 months in islamic prison. Subsequent torture...ooops..."interview" tries to justify this barbarism by saying she "admited" to having an affair.

"religion of peace" indeed.

she is punished for vilating a law in the country. Just because she is raped, she does not become free from law.
There was a Law in the country to avoid rape, but she broke the law and got raped. why do you think she should not have been punished. I understand the cultural differences of west and Arab, but she was in Arabia no in US.
