The sovereignty of God means the supremacy of God, the kingship of God. To say that God is sovereign is to declare that "He is the most high doing according to His will in heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth, so that none can stay His hand or say unto Him, "What doest thou?" (Dan. 4:35). He worketh all things after the counsel of His own will (Eph. 1:11), not after the will of His creatures.

The sovereignty of God is evidenced in His eternal decree; God, from all eternity foreordained whatsoever will come to pass to accomplish His own purposes. His eternal decree is not conditioned by any act of human will.

The God's sovereignty is also manifested in salvation. God, before the foundation of the world chose certain individuals to be the object of His grace. These and only these He purposed to save.

God is sovereign, meaning He is supreme; all of His creation put together, whether knowingly or unknowingly, cannot thwart His purposes (Psalm 93:1; 95:3; Jeremiah 23:20).

Pantocrator,Greek for Ruler of All(without exception)

Eternal and Infinite God is ultimate cause and ruler of all

No other will ,command or power is to challenge His
but God has created us in His image so we have free will(true volition) and He is not respnsible for our choises except that he bestows His grace upon us so that we can make good, virtuous and real choises (but God will not force us. There is no such thing as irresistible grace)

Since God is All-Good,All-Wise,All-Just,All-Knowing His soveriegnty reflects and reveals His attributes.

Six and a half billion people on this planet, each with his or her free will, autonomously making his or her own decisions about everything from what to eat to whom to worship, and God's will is accomplished nonetheless.

GWB did not explain it very well.

The rest of the first nine answers to this question were excellent.

I'm only commenting on the first ten answers.
